Guillow'sConsolidated B-24D Liberator Model Kit, Small

Nothing really to dislike. When you buy these complex kits, be prepared for a tough build. The plans and directions are clear enough, but you need to take your time, paying close attention to little notes on the plans here and there. But overall, I was happy with the kit. I built this model over a week or so. Incidentally, I read that there were 18,000 of these built, in Fort Worth and Detroit, during WW2. I saw the claim that these came off the line every four days. Naturally, there must have been huge teams involved in the build of the real bomber, but I am still impressed that these could be built so quickly.Kurt E. Johnson

Good balsa model, very large, comes with a good set of building plans and lots of info. Looking forward to completing! On a side note this was the plane chosen by Winston Churchill to fly him around the globe to peace negotiations during WWII, piloted by the famous master navigator William vanderkloot!

This is an awesome model. Unbelievably realistic to scale. And it is a very big module. But the real shining star is the customer service that comes with this product!!! Grandpa is actually putting this together missing a few pieces no problem sent next day and any questions he’s had no problem quick answer on the phone. Thank you

This is a nice kit with lots of scale details. The die cutting doesn't go all the way through on some of the harder balsa sheets but for the most part the die cut pieces come out clean. I liked that the stringer notches sides aren't die cut, only the bottoms, making a little more work but more accurate notches. Plans include drawings for movable Ailerons, Elevators and Rudders which makes converting to radio control a bit easier. This is designed as a static model but it does fly nicely on electric power and an RC conversion. 😀

Guillow’s claims that this isn’t their store. Bought this model, was missing a ton of pieces. Returned and repurchased the same model and it was missing a ton of pieces. We contacted Guillow’s and they sent some of the missing pieces. Upon beginning the build, noticed a ton more pieces missing. Contacted Guillow’s again and they claim it isn’t even their store, just someone selling open kits missing pieces.

Excellently designed model, all drawings and material provided, instructions are easy to follow.
