Double Six Professional Dominoes with Brass Spinner in Wooden Case 28 Piece

I bought this set of dominoes to replace one that had been passed down to me by my grandfather ─ not that I couldn't still use the set my grandfather gave me, but since he passed away, his set holds more sentimental value and I'd rather have it as a keepsake now.With regard to these dominoes, I'm not 100% sure they're made by the same manufacturer as the set I already have, but the two look extremely similar, and the quality of the new set is great. The box is sturdy and polished. The dominoes are beautiful, no blemishes, brass spinners are all intact. I've taken the liberty of uploading photos of my grandfather's set (which is well over 30 years old) alongside the new set. Customers can certainly feel confident in purchasing these dominoes. I'm guessing that previous buyers may have gotten their dominoes from a "bad batch", but as a domino enthusiast and the author of The Simple Guide on How to Play Dominoes I would recommend these dominoes to anyone. They're a great buy and they're going to last.On a side note, I will agree with the portion of negative reviews that claim these dominoes should not be labeled professional. They're really not. Perfect for home and various social settings, but not something you'd bring to a tournament.

I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about what the quality was going to be for this inexpensive set of dominoes, but I couldn't be more pleased with it when it arrived. The bones were all top quality and the wooden storage box, while not exactly furniture quality, should give years of service with a little care. Excellent value! Great little set for a quite reasonable price.

These are excellent for the price. I liked my first set so well I bought a second set. They do show some wear after heavy usage, but for the price I expected this.

Very poor product

Dominoes is one of those classic games that most American adults probably never play. A good game for children to match the pieces and count point values - and great as a totally non-tech way to play together. I bought this set to bring on vacation and so appreciated the nice wooden box they come in. They are well made, durable, easy to see, and have a classic real wood and monochromatic color scheme. The "spinners" are small ball bearing in the middle of the face side which makes them easier to mix around in the boneyard but also makes them a bit more difficult to stack when putting them away so they might not be the best choice for young kids. I bought these to bring on vacation and very much enjoyed playing the game with other adults and with children.

I loved the fact that these dominoes had the brass spinners; I had no idea thier purpose until I looked it up. Originally, dominoes were made of ivory and the spinners were placed there to protect the face of the original dominoes during shuffling and handling over time. It is basically a historical and novelty piece added to the dominoe. I am glad they stuck with the tradition. plus they say that you can spin them while you handle them in play, however, I don't think they stick out that far - or my fingers are simply too big!! Nonetheless, I'm impressed, worth the money - worth the fun, worth the history lesson.

These dominoes are top-notch professional quality I love them my Spanish boyfriend loves them because he shops at the Dollar Tree so he just thinks they're the greatest Domino's on Earth. If you're thinking of buying a stand for your Domino's I would go with a standard size because these are very thick and if you have little hands they're kind of hard to hold in your hand, and that's why I bought the dominoe stands,but you have to smash them in the stands.I was going to return them and get the standard size, but my boyfriend love these so much that he wouldn't let me!! Which is a good sign!! So I'm stuck with smashing my beautiful professional dominoes into my little stand. Lol

I would describe this as a good, cheap "starter" set.I bought them in order to teach my girlfriend and spark her interest - not to play against my friends' grandfathers or in tournaments.Cons:As other reviewers have noted, multiple pieces have light (but certainly noticeable) marks on the back (11 total, in my set). Also, the box is not of the quality I saw depicted in the item photo - the bottom was a very thin, lightly glued, patched piece of wood - which had come off by the time of delivery to my doorstep. The top was also quickly constructed and plain (as opposed to what was pictured).Pros:They have good - though perhaps a little light - weight. The faces are all fine. And the set itself is pretty cheap - $8.50 + prime when I bought it.
