I got this for my cats . They use it .

The scratch board itself is hard-wearing but the means of attachment are not suitable. My cat has barely started using it but the pulling action of them scratching has ripped the two leather tabs beyond use, they didn't stand a chance, not fit for purpose.

Cats like use it

I put this at the top of the stairs to try and stop the cats from scratching the carpet.One of them got it straight away (with the help of some catnip spray), and has made good use of it - so much so that he pulled the connections out of their screws. I managed to fix this by adding washers (see photo) upon reattaching the screws so the connection bit can't pop out anymore.The other cat however is not interested and still scratches the floor next to this scratcher! I think he's worked out that it winds me up to chase him (hopefully in the direction of the kitchen and his cat bowl).So it's a good scratcher overall, but they need to rethink the fixings. Perhaps include washers!!

There’s a little bit of fake leather at the top that you’re supposed to use to hang it but to be honest it’s useless. The cats had it ripped through and off the wall within 20 minutes. We actually screwed right through the board and into the wall to secure it. We bought 2 of these ones to secure them above the one we already had to give more height so that the cats can stretch up and scratch as we found they were still ripping the wallpaper above too. Has worked perfectly since and stays securely on the wall corner. No more damage anywhere else in the house.

Bought this to spare my wallpaper on an apparently irresistible corner and so far it has worked a treat - the cat definitely likes it! The scratch mat itself is joined together well and well made. It doesn’t fit to the wall well, though, and if you hang it just with the little leather style hooks it comes with it’s very unstable, and besides which they rip almost immediately. I have had to drive several nails through the actual board into the wall. Metal hooks would be sturdier. All in all though a good purchase - and when my cat wears it out I will he ordering another one!
