Cultures in Conflict Discovery Guide with DVD: Paul Proclaims Jesus As Lord – Part 2 (16) (That the World May Know)

I really appreciate how RVL brings to life the context of the recipients who received the messages. Some of the things the Bible flies over my head because I don't know or have not experienced what they had. These lessons bring the Bible alive for me and I truly appreciate it. These lessons make me want to go on one of those tours with RVL so I can experience it live and in-person.

I have been watching these since the 90s. Words can't express how God has used this series to teach me and many of my students about Himself and His Ways. The Word of God comes to life as you watch and listen... and Ray explains how the setting and the culture impacted what was meant by the writers. God has truly blessed this series over the years and God is taught and honored in each one.If you have never watched one of these, I can give no high recommendation than I give these. There are others and there are some that are very good and that I love too but none that I love more than the THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW SERIES. Try it... you won't be disappointed!

Ray Vander Laan is an amazing teacher and this most recent installment of the That The World May Know series dosent fail to reach, teach, expound, and convict - all set in the Holy Land and beyond where the Disciples and Apostles travelled to spread the word of God and laid the very ground work for those of us to follow in their footsteps which were in the footsteps of Jesus. This DVD follows the work of Paul and how we are called to be counter-cultural, in the world not of it, to... "Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us".1 Peter 2:12

I thought I had a fairly good understanding of scripture. Reading it in historical context makes it come to life and draws everything together for my. My group of 30 women all LOVE this study!

I recently visited these places and this Bible study was a perfect companion to learn about where Paul journeyed and taught. I do not have the others in this series but I didn't feel that I needed to know past lessons. Ray VanderLaan is an excellent Bible teacher. If you want to know specifically more about Paul's time in Athens and Corinth--this is the book!

We are enjoying this new series. Beautiful tour of Paul"s journey to Greece. Great insight into the culture of the time.Book has plenty of contextual information in addition to an in depth lesson.

We love these DVDs and used them for our Sunday school class.

This is great material that will blow your mind! Ray Vander Laan is an incredible teacher of God's Word. Well worth the $$!

although we are very happy with the dvd , the discovery guide never arrived. We still wonder why...
