I absolutely love it!
I read all the good and bad reviews before buying this fountain (hoping the good ones were right, of course!) and I am happy to report that I didn't have any issues at all. The installation was very easy, I only had to look at the picture to see how to assemble it properly, although there is a detailed explanation as well. The moving bells are moving smoothly and not being caught up in anything. Actually, it is such a simple design that I can hardly picture WHAT do you have to do to get those bells stuck! My pump was working properly without any sound (I guess I am lucky here!), but again, it is a very simple generic pump (about $7-10 on Amazon), so if anything happens to it in the future and company's customer service is not up to par, I know where to get a replacement. Regarding the sound, again I don't quite get how you can have issues with not having a sound! There are moving bells and there are stationary bells, there is a water current from the pump and the space in the bowl is pretty limited, so the moving bells have no choice but to bump at the stationary bells at some point and make a sound. It was quite obvious that you have to put enough water in the bowl so that the moving bells are on the same level as the stationary bells, although if I don't look at it for awhile and the water evaporates so that the moving bells are about 2/8" lower, it is still ok. In the beginning, the current was quite strong and bells were moving a lot faster and, as a result, the sound was more frequent and intense. After a couple of weeks, the current got slower (I think I need to clean the filter), so the sound is more subdued and infrequent, but there is still a sound!!! So, overall, I think it is a great buy. The sound is nice and calming and my husband says it reminds him of a Buddhist temple sound (and I should say, he knows what he is talking about :).

Clever idea~~not much sound
Update~~~ the finish is dull on the bells now and even tho everything still works, the resonance is gone. I have no idea how to restore it.Not much sound and the pump's output adjuster fell out during installation. We had no idea that it had come out until fully assembled~~required beginning at square A. Clever concept but not much sound at all. Rather disappointing ini light of the good reviews.Next day~~ after spending some time playing with the water level/flow and putting it in my work area where it's relatively quiet, I'm enjoying it very much. I also added a twinkling candelabra light very close by that somewhat illuminates the motion, creating a nice effect. I think I'm going to enjoy it very much. Anything that can reduce my stress level that occurs doing what I do is good. The nearest I can describe the sound is that of a windchime outside the closed windows, which in fact we do have, but as wonderful as they are can only be activated by the wind. These bells make me think it must be windy, as our chimes are on our porch that is very protected by trees, shrubs, etc. Bottom line~~ this seems to be a good thing.2 years later, the bells have lost their shine, even with the use of Brasso. They seem to be plated with some of the plating wearing off. Never was able to regulate the water flow, but now it's nearly stopped. I've taken it fully apart, cleaned it well, but it will barely move the bells now although the output seems to be good enough. We've used RO water and kept it clean, but sadly, it's pretty much dead. I am VERY sad, as I loved the sound, Hate to buy another one, as it seems to me the pump has been defective from the start with no regulator.

Fantastic Fountain!
This fountain is actually very easy to set up, it comes partially pre-assembled so you can skip a couple of steps on the instructions, that might be what's confusing some people.I have a very busy medical massage practice and I put this in my waiting room with dimmed lights and soft music. We've received nothing but positive comments, it is extremely "zen" and completely sets the tone I was hoping to achieve. Surprisingly, even my male clients are asking about it!Peaceful, soft, beautiful.Love it, love it, love it..!!!07/2019:Fountain still works well and the chiming is still beautiful. However, I had âcleanedâ it last year (confession: I donât use distilled water {my bad}). After cleaning it has been developing hard water scales this past year and a bluish, hard calcium, scaly, build-up around the water level edge of the bowl and the bell cups had all lost their luster.I had some extra time today so I dumped it out and scrubbed the hard water deposits and scum out with CLR Cleaner. I let the cleaner set in the bottom for about 10/15 minutes to dissolve all the scales. It worked great! With gloves on and a little gentle elbow grease I was able to bring the bowl back to s gleaming copper color and the bell cups went back to their original gleaming gold/brass color. There was also a HORRIC build-up of calcium on the pump intake port. Itâs amazing the pump was still able to pull water in and do itâs job.Set it back up all gleaming clean and itâs working beautifully. My goal is to only use distilled, soft water and give it a good cleaning 1x/quarter.
