Best Paddle Leash
I don't like those kayak leashes that are coiled - they're too tight across my lap and pull annoyingly against my paddle strokes. The looseness of this leash is just right - makes it easy to get in and out of the kayak without getting tangled. And it doesn't rub against my bare legs like the coiled leashes do. I don't have to remove it to transport the kayak; I just stretch it across the molded handles. I bought this leash for both my kayaks. If I get another yak, I'll buy a third.

Strong and discrete leash saves the trip.
My buddy flipped his kayak on a recent trip and fell out into the water right before a minor rapid. Luckily he held on to his paddle, which was leashed via this product to the inflatable kayak packed with overnight gear. And even though he dislocated his shoulder, he held on to the leashed paddle like a champ. He popped his should back in place, pulled the kayak back to him, and we went on our merry way down the river - all thanks to this leash. Always remember to leash up - I forget it's there while I'm paddling but always remember to put it on at the start.

Very helpful product!
This was just what I needed to make my paddling even more enjoyable. Sometimes it's tricky to get on and off my combo SUP/sit-on kayak, and letting the paddle float while I do this is very helpful so I don't have to worry about it floating away. It was also great the couple of times I fell off my craft, allowing me to recover myself and the craft without worrying about losing the paddle. I even used it to attach my water bottle to my swimming float so I didn't have to worry about losing that! Handy to have.

Happy with this Leash
I am very happy with this paddle leash. I chose it in part because it can be installed over the blade when the paddle is not the type that breaks down. I have both style paddles (and two kayaks.) I like the extra length as I sometimes use my paddle leash to secure my boat to the dock. Until now, I have been using a piece of nylon rope for both leash and tie-up, so this is a step up for me. The clip is a little difficult to squeeze and install on the rigging, but it is similar to other rope attachments on my fiberglass touring kayak. I also purchased a leash with a carabiner. That one is easier to clip on, but I prefer this leash for reasons mentioned.

Saved my paddle from loss.
Saved my paddle from loss. Reluctant at first, I found this leash essential in those moments landing and launching when this can get hectic and paddles can slide off into the water. Exactly this happened to me during several landings on a muddy shore in the Green River of Utah....trying to keep my balance I lost track of my paddle which had slipped off the kayak and into the water. I easily pulled on the leash to get my paddle back. One down side, it adds to the possibility of feet catching on the cord during landing, so I had to remember to position the cord out of the way of a possible entanglement with my feet.... small negative compared to losing a paddle.

Strong Leash for Kayak
Went in a not so calm creek after it rained in a kayak meant for calm large bodies of water and I have no experience in whitewater.Anyway, I ran into some branches hanging in the water and I tipped my kayak and let go of my paddle. My paddle luckily got caught up in the branches upstream and this leash was holding my kayak which was filled to the top with water and me from floating downstream(kayak was initially flipped over and I had to flip it over right side up)I was very surprised the leash didn't break as there was a lot of weight on the leash in fast moving water!

Good leash for runaway paddles
Leash has a little stretch in it so you can pull on it a bit if you need to, but it's a good length so that probably won't be necessary. Loop expands to fit over blades, or can be installed when you take the paddle apart. Holds tight with no trouble. Reading other reviews, I bought a small metal clip to replace the plastic one, but the plastic is pretty sturdy and I suspect it will hold up just fine.

Paddle Leash
Not much one can say about a paddle leash but it works well and doesn't get in my way while paddling. I haven't lost a paddle yet but now that I'm river and ocean paddling it's even more critical I don't. I do recommend a paddle leash for beginners or anyone paddling in places with any kind of a current.
