Very good book of knowledge.

Excellent

I liked the contents and the classification but the images of birds could be real, instead there are color plates used in old style printing.

I had high expectations on this book but it surpassed even those! The details are immense, everything included. To think that the late Dr Salim Ali collected all these knowledge without the aid of modern day tools, especially bug spray and Internet is mind blowing.The only con to me is that the book is heavy for me and difficult to carry around a bird sightseeing.

Bad packaging, Product was a little damaged, overall good book for birders, rich in information, but packaging should be improved.

What should i write about a classic book on ornithology ? Written by one of the father figure of conservation in India this book is a must possession for all the nature lovers. Many people has complained about the artistic drawings in this book for their less accuracy , but i think before making a complain one should think about the time when the book was actually writren. Back then there is very less facility of wildlife photography and less technology of publishing. In those circumstances this classic book with its unparalleled detailed description with nearly perfect drawings stands tall.For those who are looking for a useful book on birds with reallife photos, I would like to suggest the magnum opus creation by Bikram Grewal and his team - "A Pictorial Field Guide to Birds of India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri lanka and Bangaladesh".
