Homewerks 240-2-1-1 No-Lead Swing Check Valve, Female Thread x Female Thread, Brass, 1-Inch

I went to my local "big box" home improvement store of choice looking for one of these and, after confirming with a plumbing associate that they do not carry them, I ordered one from the Amazon Windows Phone app, right there in the plumbing aisle. I've been doing that more and more lately, which is good for Amazon and not so good for these stores. This is a SOLID, quality product whose only requirement is that it is positioned correctly (with the cap upwards and also taking care to make sure the flow matches the flow arrow). It solved the problem with my year-old dishwasher whose pump failed (per the warranty repairman) because it isn't strong enough to push out any back flow from the disposal. This solved the problem.

I created a loop for having the hot water circulating in my house to get instant hot water. It has been working for almost a year with no issue. NOTE: I had to make sure it is installed horizontally and the hat on top to function correctly.The reason I didn't give it 5 starts is I would have loved it if had a bleeding capability. You would need that if you have compressed fluid on the moving side of the valve.

This is an integral component on my custom built barrel stove outdoor furnace used to heat my home from the outdoors! So far I have been heating my home using wood I get for free. Only works in one direction! Ha ha....get it !

These work well although they appeared to restrict more water than I expected so I upgraded to 3/4" valves which worked perfectly.

Works as advertised. No complaints.

Tried to use in in a hot water recirculating system to prevent the cold water source from flowing backwards into the system. My pump is timed to run for about 1 minute every 30 minutes. The valve was unreliable. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. I tried mounting it both horizontally and vertically. My water system is both softened and carbon filtered. Somehow either the door is getting stuck open or isn't fully shutting.
