Thundercats Season 1 Book 3

This is an impressive update to the original series from the 1980's. Being a big fan of the ThunderCats, I could hardly wait for the DVDs to come out after the new series was launched.It doesn't disappoint. The story line is far different than the original series, and it's "darker" than the original. But it still focuses on the core aspects of the ThunderCat philosophies of truth, honor, and loyalty. They spend time tackling all kinds of issues from racism, to slavery, to the value of friendship, and plenty more.May not be suitable for really young kids. I loaned my set to a colleague, and he said his 6 year old didn't like some of the more violent sequences...particularly where someone was killed (which never happened in the original series).

Perfecy

This part of the Thundercats 2011 is good. Like everyone else, I am put off that they couldn't end this series. Pumyra is left as being a traitor - not cool. Over all great animation and story - I'll be irritated for the rest of my life unless they can get one more season out for some darn conclusion.

This is the final disc of the first season release of Cartoon Network's Thundercats remake.The series is a fresh look at a classic from my childhood. If you're a fan of the original, there is enough loyalty to the characters and plot-line of the first series to keep you happy, while the updates are all in well-needed areas (improved animation, sound, acting...) They even take away Snarf's ability to talk, rendering him a super-smart catlike creature. BRAVO!

This series presents an interesting new take on the Thundercats, there is clearly a well thought-out background to the story that was mapped out before the whole series was executed. Some of the filler episodes are lame, being cheap rip-offs of other stories. Still, all in all, character backgrounds and interactions are interesting with a very well conceived mythos to the whole overall story.The DVD is light on extras (as in none, really).If this type of product interests you (which must be the case if you are reading this review), you will probably enjoy it. It has it's weaknesses, but overall delivers as sci-fi/fantasy entertainment.

Thundercats season 1 Book 1, 2, and 3 was a wonderful experience my grandchildren and my Grown children love this series. We purchased the original series a few months ago and my grand children were able to see the difference in their parents Thundercats and the Current 2012 version. We hope this is not the end to this wonderful series of DVD movies.

i fell in love with this new version of ThunderCats. all of the same characters are there, with a bit of a twist on how they ended in the battle with MummRa. i even enjoy some improvements (Snarf is not nearly as annoying). i bought the entire first season. great addition to my collection.

For those who watched the original Thundercats show then this show will bring a lot of that back. It has basically the same story as the first season of the original while also being unique. It goes into a little more depth with back story on some of the characters and some is completely different. Overall I enjoyed this show just as much as the original.
