AmazonBasics Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable-3 Feet,Black

The cable quality was excellent. However it didn't work with my MacBook Pro mid 2012 model. I ordered this as it was vaguely mentioned in the description that it works for MacBook Pro models.At first, I thought I received a faulty cable so submitted the replacement request. However, the problem persisted even with the new replacement provided by Amazon. I had no option but to return the cable.Thanks to amazing customer service by Amazon. I was fully refunded. Later, I ordered Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable by Amazon Basics and it worked smoothly.

Initially had problems with "no signal" error but then you have to disconnect and reconnect the cable and switch display options (duplicate, only 2nd display, etc) a few times for Windows to recognise the attached cable. I got it to work after a few tries. Excellent value for money compared to other expensive options.This cable does show a bandwidth support of 2.7gbps x 4 which is v1.0 speed but I believe it's a software bug since I did not find any problems using the monitor on DP v1.2

I am very happy I made this purchase. I have been using this external display for over three years and never occurred to me what I was missing. I bought this cable just because as I needed the HDMI input in my monitor to connect something else and I thought I can use the spare DisplayPort input with my MacBook's mini DisplayPort output.It's a world of a difference from HDMI. The cable itself is very well build, sturdy and light weight at the same time. The connectors are premium quality. Getting the cable to work was pretty straightforward.I spend a whole lot of time on my computer, and since I was used to see output over HDMI for a long time, I could instantly see a world of difference with the DisplayPort.I am not been this happy with any purchase in recent times. It's an big upgrade in my work setup and I hope would help boost the productivity.

Hi All,Recently purchased an external monitor for MacBook Pro Retina model in early 2015 and unable to view the same quality picture while external connection to 27" LG UL500. some research found that MiniDP(Thunderbolt) to DisplayPort cable is required for maximum performance and finally seen it with 4K HDR monitor. However when mirroring a Retina display with the same monitor then it's scaling a picture in the monitor.But without mirroring, able to view optimal performance and happy to have this cable.Users who have an older MacBook with Retina must use this cable rather than a conventional Thunderbolt to HDMI cable.Thanks!

I tried may cables unfortunately they didn't work on my acer laptop...if you have acet predator helio laptops , this cable will works on mini display port. I am able to connect two monitors , one with hdmi port and other one with this mini display to display port cable...thx amazon basic

It dosen't work with Odessey series monitors , it dosent detect. For other monitors or displays it might work.Can't able to return it to seller as there is no return option only replacement. Currently a vestigial cable.Anyone trying to buy Samsung Odessy series avoid this and buy a converter (only if you have a laptop).

After connecting with monitor using this cable my MacBook screen got white line. After few min half of screen become black. Dont buy if you don't want to damage your laptop.
