Seda France - Japanese Quince Candle

My order history tells me we bought this candle exactly 10 months ago. I bought it because we were selling/staging our house and I thought the box would be perfect for a nightstand vignette I was making. And it was, the box is seriously attractive. What I DIDN"T anticipate was how amazing the candle would be. This Japanese Quince is a gorgeous scent - once our realtor smelled it, she asked that we burn it during showings and I've found it quite addictive ever since.The throw on this is really good, as well. I recently purchased a more expensive candle in a little local boutique and it is wasted unless I'm sitting nearby it. This will fill a closed-door room like a bedroom quite quickly and when we burned it in our old house in the open space of hall/living room/kitchen/dining room, we'd smell it throughout after 20 minutes or so.It's not like I've been burning it every day for these last 10 months. We did move, so there were many weeks in there where it was all U-hauls and boxes. But it did get used a LOT, both for the aforementioned showings, then here at the new house we use it both in the restroom but also carry it about because I really don't get tired of the scent. So this is fabulous longevity. My frame of reference here is a brand I love to get because I like their scents, Sand + Fog. In the future, I will continue to buy those since one can purchase them cheaply and it's just fun to have a variety. But I will *always* repurchase this candle, as well, because the price is actually really good between the throw and the longevity.

I love the scent. The glass container is clean and classy. The overall package is designed well and is giftable.I grew up with actual quinces. My mother wasn’t a fan but she kept one or two in the back seat of her car so that I can enjoy the long car rides from my grandparents to our home when I was young. They were in our bathroom and sometimes my mom marinaded them in sugar to make them into tea jam. Basically what I’m trying to say is.. I bought this in nostalgia of my childhood but this candle does not smell like quinces. However, I love it.I’m not sure how to describe the scent. It’s on the fruity citrusy side. It’s neither warm or cool or too sweet. I can imagine this being a great gift if you didn’t know the receivers taste in scent but you insist on giving them a scented candle. It is clean, fresh, pleasant, and polite.Not sure this will help anyone but it smells a lot like MOR cosmetics, black plum cherry hand cream but I don’t think this scent is cherry or plum. (The bottom of the packaging says this candle is from 2014)

I love this candle. It’s my signature home scent. I will definitely keep repurchasing.

This candle felt a little pricey but honestly it smells so good! I bought it hoping to be a Diptyque dupe and it comes pretty close. It burns really evenly and the smell carries through the house! Definitely recommend if your someone who already spends money on the Jo Malone or Diptyque candles!

Wow I saw on TikTok that this was supposed to be a dupe for the Diptyque Baies candle. At best I was hoping for something similar, but these smell the exact same!!!!! The candle is a great size for the price point and scent in comparison to Diptyques price point. It burns well, the packaging is adorable and beautiful, and the scent is perfect!!!! I 100000% recommend this candle!

In addition to this candle, I also ordered the gardenia scented candle. The gardenia candle was packed very neatly, wrapped in bubble wrap, in a bag closed with a twist tie, and its cardboard packaging was perfect. The gardenia scent is pronounced and wonderful.This candle has almost no scent at all. The cardboard packaging had been opened and ripped. Instead of being wrapped in bubble wrap, there were a few packing peanuts tossed into the bag which wasn’t closed. The candle itself doesn’t fill the glass container it came in with gaps like air pockets. It’s definitely not worth $30.

Really lovely light and fresh scent that’s lasted. Burns evenly. Long lasting.
