Corelle Impressions Shadow Iris 20-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

We bought 2 of these sets three and a half years ago after life with children proved to be not stoneware-friendly. We found these, really liked the design and that the set included saucers, shopped around for the best price and finally placed an order with Amazon. We received both sets completely intact. I read some reviews where people noted that the actual design on these plates is not as bright as on the computer screen. Either my computer screen is dull or i got particularly bright sets, but I saw little difference in vibrancy of the colors.Pros: 1) The dishes are very lightweight, thin and compact - two sets occupy as much space as my one stoneware set used to. (For people who need their dishes to feel like real china would definitely find this to be a big drawback. However, I found that Corelle now makes thicker dishes that feel more real.) 2) Though thin, they are very durable. The plates had been dropped on numerous occasions, but so far only 1 had bit the dust upon being dropped on the tile floor. That means I can ask my 3 year old to put his dirty dishes in the sink without the fear that he will break them in the process. I honestly don't know how people with kids have dishes other than Corelle. 3) There is no chipping or fading of the colors (however, we wash by hand, not in the dishwasher) after three and a half years of every day heavy use. 4) Saucers. Did I mention that this set has them? There are many sets that don't include them, but this one does. Can you tell saucers are really important to me? 5) Design is very pretty: we received many compliments on these dishes.Cons: 1) When Corelle breaks, its breaks. Our one plate that broke, broke into a million tiny and very sharp pieces, which were very hard to clean up. 2) cups are made out of thick stoneware, which breaks very easily and is not as durable as plates. 3) Not really a con, just an observation - I would love to see a design on Corelle bowls. They are very plain - white with a colored border.Overall, nice design, good quality, excellent value for your money and highly recommended for everyone, especially parents with young kids.

We already have Corelle dishes (plain white) but wanted to add some color to our dish set. Therefore, we purchased these plates. However, (3) things were not as expected:1) They are more "green" than the photos showed. We did not care for that, liking the "Blue" highlights better.2) These plates have a 'depression' in the center - almost like shallow bowls with large rims. I expected them to have the same shape as our existing Corelle - not so. If you look for the indent, it can be seen in the photos. As we were not expecting anything different in shape from what we have, I did not pay close attention to this.3) One of the small plates had paint on the back side - as if it had been placed on another plate before the paint had dried on the other plate. We have not found a way to remove this paint.Taken all together, we should have returned these to Amazon but we had destroyed the packaging before realizing that we should return them...We have been using them since we received them and they work fine. The service from Amazon was Very fast! Within (2) days, I think.

I ordered two sets one with the glasses and this set with the coffee cups.I have had corelle dishes for years and I needed to update my dishes I chose this set because I can add more pieces later on like the salt and pepper shaker, the gravy boat and other items that are offered in this pattern.The set came quickly in great condition.It is prettier then the picture.My only complain is that I would have liked to have had a larger salad plate then the one that is offered.I would recommend this set to any one looking for every day dishes that will look good on the table and so easy to clean.

We have been using the set I got during my bridal shower the past 5 years and thought it was time to add on to the collection for when extended family visits us. My order from Amazon came in fast and in great condition. I am so happy that I am thinking of ordering another set and maybe the matching sugar and creamer set too.

I bought this to match a set of dishes I already had, but was missing some, they appear to be imposter Corelle plates, definitely NOT the same as the ones I already had, very disappointed and feel that I was swindled....

This is a great every day service. It's attractive, light weight and doesn't take up much room in your dishwasher. However, I do find that every so often you have to do hand scrubbing to clean off the knife marks.

Several things should be noted about this item.1. The mugs are heavy stoneware not the thin cups I remember from childhood. (I also remember those cups being insanely hot when filled with coffee.) The change may be a good one but if the description stated the coffee cups were stoneware, I missed it.2. The colors in the picture are washed out. There is significantly more pink than you can tell from the picture and the colors are overall brighter.3. The paint job is just not even on the rim of several plates and I can tell which of my plates were not correctly formed because they don't stack properly.I expect more from Corelle. The quality of this product was one that I would expect to find in a factory outlet.
