Good sensor
I just got this sensor, but so far it works fine. It came with a fully charged battery, even though the product info says the batteries aren't included. It was easy to install and set up. It does not work with Alexa or any other smart home integration, and it doesn't send notifications when the device is triggered. It does keep records of the device being triggered, but I haven't figured out a way for it to result in actual notifications. It seems like it is more designed for "if/then" style commands, such as turning on a light when a door is opened. And if you want "if/then" commands to happen based off of the sensor, then the other products must be GoveeLife brand. None of that is a problem for me as that is exactly what I wanted this sensor for, and I have other Govee Life products. I bought this for my walk-in closet. I have it connected to a smart bulb so that when I open the closet door, it turns on, and it turns off when I close the door. I really like the GoveeLife app and integration. It's super easy to control all of your products with one app, and Alexa integration is a snap, as well (for products that will work with Alexa).

Works well, but setup takes some effort
Once everything is set up, these sensors work great and are reliable for monitoring doors and windows. They do exactly what you’d expect in day-to-day use. The main drawback is the setup process. The app can be a bit confusing, and getting automations configured isn’t as straightforward as it could be. It’s doable, but takes some patience. Overall, solid performance once you get past the initial setup.

IFTTT discontinued on Alexa so routines os the work around with voicemonkey
I used mine as a window sensor since I sleep with a window open so if someone or something moves the window I'll be alerted/alarmed via my echo since its disabled on the real professional house alarm system. I attached the sensors with magnetic tape since you have to change the batter eventually or have a hardware failure/replacement. There's no actual Govee alarm aside from the water/thermometers that just beep, so that's why I used Alexa instead. IFTTT has been discontinued so you have to use routines inside of Alexa instead. Alexa can enable/disable routines using the custom line which is what would say i.e.: "enable x routine". Using Echo 4th Generation, the big one not a dot. I also have a Govee corner light and presence sensor. You need Alexa app, Govee Life app, IFTTT app, and Voice Monkey app. You need to add all these apps as skills in the Alexa App. This is considered a sub sensor BTW. Voice Monkey, add a speaker will treat it like a toggle door open/closed while routine trigger can split the open/close state. Either one will make this Govee devices discoverable for routines now or as a simple doorbell trigger/announcer. Use IFTTT to have the Govee app be the IF trigger, while Voice Monkey be the THEN that will pass along to Alexa. Create a routine in Alexa using the Voice Monkey as the WHEN event, and then fill in the ALEXA WILL section for audio. Save the routine and use something else like a new routine triggered by saying Good morning/Good night to enable and disable rather than saying Turn on/off disable/enable routine name. Additionally you can use the govee app to send you a notification to verify things are being triggered as a redundancy/tracker if you are away from the speaker/announcement device. The one that is sent from Alexa to your phone will only sound any other notification and won't work as a makeshift alarm.

Read the capabilities before you buy
Extremely disappointed. Only works with a Govee gateway product like a smart plug or humidifier for automation. Not capable of connecting via a hub, Bluetooth or WiFi or sending open/close alerts. Other Govee products have been great. Not sure what they were thinking with this one.
