Very pretty but halogen bulb is ****SUPER HOT!!! We went to Home Depot and switched to an LED bulb. I read the reviews. Some people received a halogen bulb (super hot) and some received an LED. That is why you see the disparity in reviews. I may go back to HD and get a dimmer LED bulb.

The light seems to be well-made. Cast metal base and stain glass dome our appealing but dangerous IMO. I Plugged it in and with five minutes the light was scorching hot. Didn’t feel comfortable having at my home and returned it.

I bought this and have Never been able to use. So hot could have burned my nieces hand or caught the dresser on fire...so dissapointed in this purchase and it wasnt cheap...a 40 dollar paperweight

Beautiful lamp. It came with a halogen bulb so I went to Home Depot and got an LED bulb. It Has two settings/brightness. Easy to take off and put on shell when putting in bulb. The description on the website said that it's 1.5 watts, but it's actually 25 watt. I would recommend this.

This light gets to hot to touch the bulb need to be less wattage

Bought as a house warming gift for a friend who loves turtles and the color blue. She was ecstatic to recieve this pretty little lamp.

This is NOT an LED light. The bulb that comes with it is a 25w halogen bulb. My intention was to use it as a night light and leave it on all night. It runs so hot that I worried about it causing damage to the wooden furniture. I set it on a coaster to protect the furniture and a few hours later I came back and the top was too hot to touch. The site clearly says it is energy efficient LED light, that is not what arrived. You can't change the bulb for another type because the halogen plug is unique. The turtle part is just as pictured, but the 'guts' are not as described. Useless, I'm afraid to leave it on at all, between damage to the furniture or burnt hands if anyone dares to touch it.

This lamp gets so hot even on low.We thought this lamps is so cute, but when we turned it on the glass gets so hot you would burn your hand if you touched it for more than a few seconds. And we had it on low! I can’t imagine how hot it would get on high! We will be returning as this lamp is unsafe. Wrong type of bulb for a tiny lamp.
