I'm hoping to put a little meaning to these numbers.I can curl about 25kg with one arm, less for practical sets most of the time. I can bench about 85kg max for one rep.Other reviewers' comments vary all over the place. The 40kg model sounded too hard but the 30kg model sounded too easy.I went with the 40. My first set I could handle about seven reps. (I held the last one a while to gauge the isometric value, so may have been able to do another rep instead). This would make it sound like the thing was about correct for my strength, however:--Those reps were HARD. My second set was wimpy; no point in even trying a third set.--You're forcing a HUGE amount of potential energy into that spring. As with any new exercise at peak, it felt like the major muscles were handling it, the minor muscles not keeping up. BUT unlike with most new exercises, I felt like I could sense the opportunity for knocked-out teeth buzzing in the air. Which tired minor muscle was going to slip the wrong way with dreadful results? I'm not familiar enough with the mechanics involved to say how realistic that possibility is. And Kansoon did attach wrist straps which obviously help things. But it still FELT like I was always on the edge of catastrophe. Not a pleasant sensation to feel increasing as you strain for that one final rep to get the most out of your workout.I wound up also buying the 30kg like a lot of other people did. It is a little easy. The gulf of 10kg/22lbs between models is just a big hole and we have to deal with that.I'm keeping the 40kg too. I find it's the perfect way to press toward strength occasionally, and also vary the muscle task once a week or so. The two machines together are less than $40 anyway, at least while on sale. I find that's definitely worth the value I get from having them both. But if I had to choose only one, given my starting strength listed above, I would definitely choose the 30kg model. If I just had that, I think I would be able to bring everything up to 40kg-ready in a month or so---including those minor muscles involved. Hope this helps someone decide. One final note: the thing, when you bend it palms-down-spring-up, does a very nice job of working those hard-to-isolate muscles in the center of your chest. It's exactly what I was hoping for.

Use the straps, great product!
I bought the 40kg and at the beginning it was incredibly difficult to bend, but I bought this to START building strength, so I stuck with it. The best part about this is that it's mobile. I can take this to work (I work security and sit in a shack for the first part of my day) and I can use this during the shift. I've notived my chest and arms have gotten leaner and my arms have definitely gotten bigger. I BEG OF YOU. PLEASE. USE. THE. STRAPS. I didn't one time and it smacked me in the face and left some good bruising, my buddy who tried it got several stitches on his chin.

Product ok
Product is ok I just don't like chest expanders. Hadn't used one in awhile so I thought I'd try it. Now I know why I haven't used one in awhile.

For me (approaching sixty) it's a good strength to exercise with
Seems well made. Probably not strong enough for a young man in his twenties ( would probably want a stronger one) . For me (approaching sixty) it's a good strength to exercise with.

Can get a good workout and can massage my upper back and shoulders ...
This serves as a dual purpose for me. Can get a good workout and can massage my upper back and shoulders afterwards haha. It's metal so quality it's good. Only thing I would say this causes a lot of pressure on your wrists bc of the tension. I got the 30 kg and think if you don't use it right it can injury your wrist. It's definitely a good piece though and most ppl might want to start with the lower weight and then work your way up.

super fast refund to amazon gift card
I do not use any performance enhancing drugs, never have. Im age 39 weigh 350, morbidly obese, 350lb deadlift 1 rep, 270 bench. I first bought a 60kg, I could barely do 1 rep. Returned it, quality return, super fast refund to amazon gift card. Bought a 40kg. With a 40kg I can do a 14 rep set. So, a 60kg or 80kg is suitable for someone on sports drugs. Love it!

Arghhhh.
The bar needs to be longer to give you more choices of grips and hand movement. Otherwise, it's well made, but it's not for me personally. Incidentally, 20kg is a tad more than 44 lbs. Maybe if you were to start of somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 to 15 kgs it might be more appealing and realistic.
