Awesome product for cats who like to play in water
I have 3 cats and one of them likes to play in water. Before this we had one of the auto water bowls and he would play in it so much my kitchen floor would have water covering it. This product is so awesome! No more flooding my kitchen! It did take them a little bit to get used to it, by the end of the day they had the hang of it. The only complaint I have is the floating disc sometimes gets water inside of it and it's hard to get apart to clean. But even with that.. 5 stars.

Probably great for most pets...but not mine
I bought this after reading all the great reviews about how this bowl will stop cats from splashing in their water. I was stoked. My cat, who we rescued 1.5 years ago, just started splashing and digging in his water, and tipping entire bowls over. It's infuriating, especially since he shares a water bowl with our 70 lb American Bulldog. This bowl worked really well for about 3 days. They were both drinking out of it, and Mo (cat) tried and tried to paw at the water and got NOTHING. Woo hoo! Then, SOMEHOW he flipped the disc over in the bowl. I thought, "ok, well that's odd but it still works no matter which way it's put into the bowl, so whatever."The next day, he had managed to remove the disc completely, paw the majority of the water out of the bowl and finish off his fun by tipping the rest of the water out onto the floor.I don't doubt that this product works for most people with normal cats, but it did not work for me. I'm back to putting towels on the floor all around the water bowl. *sigh*

NO more water sloshed everywhere! Simple and efficient, and far less expensive than others.
Works great! I bought two different bowls, to see which one worked best, and this one far exceeded expectations. The other one is much larger, more expensive, and requires way too much to go through (you have to create a vacuum for it to work) This one is simple, and it works! No worries about our dog removing the top, and best of all? No more water just sloshed all over the place!! The only issue, is that it's not very big, so this one stays upstairs, and the large stainless steel is used downstairs. This one is far superior in ease of use.

Great for dog that throws-up water - but it broke
My old dog gulps a lot of water fast, and used to regurgitate it on my floor within seconds of drinking/coughing. This bowl has solved the problem! She is forced to take smaller and slower mouthfuls. She is a 12 pound dog, but I suspect it would for any size dog and not just cats. Not stepping in puddles of vomit water has been wonderful, and I suspect the dog is happy not to throw-up.This is an update about 5 months after purchase....the disk broke. It is made of 2 halves that are melded together somehow, but they separated. Now water has leaked inside the disk and can't be removed or cleaned out. Bacteria and fungi will build up in there, so it is not possible to use this bowl anymore. This is a fatal flaw. It is past the return window, so now I am without any options. Do not buy thus till they fix the disk seal.

I like it - but it gets moldy.
It is a great bowl for our dog that doesn't know when to stop and take a breath while drinking. The only issue is that the disc starts to separate and no matter how hard you clean it, mold starts to grow.

Great for my shih tzu fur baby
Helps keep his beard much more dry--not perfectly dry, but MUCH better than an open bowl. I feel more comfortable with this design concept as opposed to the water bottle for keeping his face dry because I always worried he wasn't getting enough water when licking the water bottle spout.

Maybe too big for a cat, definitely cuts down on the mess.
The media could not be loaded. The bowl is very large, more suitable for a dog than a cat. I have a kitten who would rather empty the contents of his water bowl on the floor rather than drink his water. He still has the instinct to paw at his water, but at least the mess is more well contained. It definitely holds more water than he’d consume in about 3-4days, but at least I don’t have to waste a bunch of paper towels cleaning up.

The ONLY THING that worked
We have a cat who loved play in water bowls, move water bowls, and upturn water bowls. We tried several different types before finally finding this one. We tried it. He managed to move it a few times, which I thought was going to cross this off the list as another one that didn't work, but finally the game wasn't entertaining enough for him, as he finally stopped doing it. I think the weight of this bowl when full, and its reluctance to spill has removed all the fun for him. He just drinks from it now. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
