Yoshitaka Amano: The Illustrated Biography Beyond the Fantasy Limited Edition

I had been waiting since March to receive this book and when it came in this week my high expectations were surpassed. The slipcase for the 2 books and DVD case/lithographs is really high quality. Had a great texture and design and is very sturdy. Both books are of great quality in color and type of paper used. Both lithographs are quite lovely, a VHD and a FF. I have not watched the DVD yet, but I can barely wait. As they might say, you are definitely getting your bang for your buck with this book.

I absolutely love this hardback full of gorgeous illustrations from Vampire Hunter D (my favorite anime) to Final Fantasy (one of my favorite gaming franchises)The book came packed very well and arrived in great condition - thankfully!! So many people ship such nice things in those terrible bubble mailers - there was minimal denting and thank goodness as it would be such a shame for this piece of art itself to be damagedIf you are a fan of Yoshitaka's work, this is a must buy.

My son-in-law is an artist and heavily into anime. This is one of his favorite artists and he was extremely excited about the quality of this book. He even posted on Facebook how wonderful it is and how awesome I was to get it for him. He's difficult to buy for, so I was excited that he enjoyed this product.

I've always been a big fan of Yoshitaka Amano and this book is a must-buy for fans. Fascinating interviews, facts I never knew, and the wonderful art had me enthralled. It humanizes Amano in so many ways and the writing is top-notch. The one thing this makes me feel is I hope there's one day a Final Fantasy game in Amano's original style!

As a fan of Amano’s work for nearly 30 years, I Loved everything about this set from the amazing quality, to the lovely presentation of all items and exquisite overall presentation. Dark Horse in general has been making some impressive volumes lately. Highly recommend. Nothing feels cheap or like they skimped on anything. If you are a fan, this should occupy a very prominent place on your bookshelf. It’s a charismatic multimedia presentation and an amazing conversation starter for those new to Amano’s work.

Love the entire collection from the biography talking about some of the inspiration for his works, to the sketches and art designs presented. The signed lithographs were a heck of a plus! Any art and/or Amano fan would love to have something like this.

This was a gift for my daughter and she was thrilled with it! Beautiful book and filled with many photos of his work. It came wrapped in plastic, heavy, and high quality. A hit!

The first thing to know about this book is that it covers a lot of Amanos work prior to his work on Final Fantasy. If you're looking for a dedicated art book just for final fantasy this likely isn't for you. Thats not to say it doesn't have any FF stuff in it. This is a biography more so than anything else and there are pictures to guide you along with what is being said. I didn't read much of it but I did enjoy the pictures.

画集というよりは天野喜孝氏の子ども時代から年代を追った仕事を網羅したバイオグラフィー的な内容。若い頃の天野喜孝氏本人（イケメン）の写真などが結構載っています。初期のイラストから最近の画までを網羅していますが、絵というよりは解説がメイン。当然、文章は全て英語です。こういう集大成的な本が日本ではなく海外で出てしまうのが天野喜孝氏らしいです。
