Not the same as in the image, but still an awesome effect
The media could not be loaded. Based on initial impressions, this light is pretty convincing when mounted in a lamp, and definitely adds to a festive mood. It feels fairly durable (for a light bulb), though there is a slight rattling inside - might be the gravity sensor moving, but it makes me not want to shake the thing too hard.Pros:The fire animation is convincing enough to be used in a porch light or inside a decoration. However, it's not nearly as detailed as in the picture - see cons below. It is bright for a decorative bulb. I would guess about a 30 watt equivalent. I understand why they suggest you don't stare right into it.I worried about it being annoying to change the mode. Even though it is obnoxious to have to flick the light on and off 3 times for breathing mode, it's not really a big deal. A selection button added to the base would be awesome.Direction of flames adjusts automatically when you flip the direction of the bulbCons:It does NOT create the delicate layers of detailed flame shown in the photograph. It looks more like a blurred fire behind frosted glass - convincingly moving, but not nothing like the detailed flame image of the listing.Vent holes on top were partially obscured by excess plastic from the molding process. I opened them up a bit with the tip of a pencil. It says 4 modes, but only seems to have three - flickering, steady on, breathing. Maybe they count the gravity sensor as a forth mode that operates at the same time as the flickering mode. The gravity switch that detects bulb direction seems overly sensitive. If the bulb is tapped, it flickers wildly for a half second, deciding which way the flame animation should goIt does NOT return to the previously selected mode when you turn it off for over 20 seconds and then back on, like the description says. It always starts in flicker mode (which is really what you usually want anyway)Overall, satisfied with my purchase. Looks amazing in our porch lights.

Perfect ambiance for Halloween!!
Having just recently moved into our first home in the last few months, I am so looking forward to decorating for the holidays - and Halloween is my favorite. However, money is also tight so I needed to get the biggest bang for my buck and give my front porch that wow factor. These lights popped up in my Pinterest feed and after some research I ordered two. I am SO glad I did! Yes, we have them up already, before any other decorations, but the flickering orange glow is just gorgeous. It seriously looks like my house might be on fire. I can't wait to see how everything looks when I get the rest of the look together! I've been telling my friends at work about these lights, they're so cool. I will be updating this later with pictures as soon as I get the rest decorated.

Much more defined than the cheaper ones I found in stores
I bought these after being mildly disappointed with some similar and slightly cheaper priced bulbs I found in a hardware store. I had heard that the market was being flooded with these since they became popular, so some were gonna be cheap.Well, these are by far the best ones I had. Very defined, very distinctive, and gave out a fair amount of light on top of it. These fit the mood of my haunted house very well, and I enjoyed that they can be turned upside down and still perform their function. I've only used them for about 20 hours total right now, and if they die extremely quickly I will update my review here, but right now I'm extremely satisfied and I have recommended them to several people who asked at my party.

Flame Effect Bulb is More Accurate, NICE!
I thought these bulbs would be kinda neat for the holiday season, so I gave them a try. FLAME bulb, not so much, but FLAME EFFECT bulb, absolutely! As other reviewers have noted (and the manufacturer recommends), the bulbs are really best viewed through a frosted glass shade. The "flame" is really quite pixelated looking if you look directly at the bulb, but through a shade, the illusion of flame effect is quite cool! The multiple modes are a nice option, but I find I really only end up using gravity mode-- that said, options are nice. Other options include more of a "slow-fade" flicker and sort of a gently dimming/brightening mode. The color of the bulbs is really a nice light flamey orange. As I said, if you look AT the bulb, it kind of reminds me of a neon sign, with a lot of obvious blinking and "mechanical" action going on inside the bulb-- not much like fire. However, through a shade, the pixelation and action are just obscured enough so that you end up with a very reasonable flame lighting effect-- much like a torch inside your shade.

Its comfortable. The feel of a fireplace. Very serene. I love it.
The media could not be loaded. Well the bulb is so big and you can't just put it anywhere it wouldn't look right, so finding the right spot is definitely the key. It's very romantic feeling . It has different settings you can use them by turning the lamp off and on until you get the desired effect. It's really nice. Better used at night and not in a place where you really need to see. I don't think that's what this is meant for. It doesn't put out alot ot light at all. More like a candle or a fireplace. It's not mrleant for everyone believe me, the guys in the house don't really like it. The woman love it .

Perfect Candle Lights
My porch lights were too bright to enjoy the evenings. I usually prefer candle light. These are perfect for my situation and the lights mirror candles very closely. I have smoked glass for the housing and these things work great. The inverted lighting function works perfect too. I have a vertical bulb in my garage and the candle flames are oriented the right way. If you stand outside you would swear a flame is flickering in the garage. I don’t use the different patterns but they work as described. I would highly recommend these bulbs. Wish I had known about them sooner. I am now saving money on expensive candles and pulling half the watts of the older LEDs. Two thumbs up!
