I use this machine for ristretto & lungo usually, both with added milk. The steaming process is quick & efficient & I just love the way the machine cleans its own steam pipe. The only thing I don't like is that the lid of the water tank falls off sometimes & rapidly glugs its way to the bottom of the newly-filled tank. Fishing it out seems to be the only way to go but, as the back of the machine is difficult to access, I have to do some serious moving to achieve this. Perhaps I shall eventually be smart enough to catch the lid deftly before this happens.I make coffee for just one or two people & even the lower milk mark on the jug is too much. I use a smaller metal jug to compensate but, just occasionally, the milk whooshes UP the jug alarmingly & overflows. Possibly the jug is not quite on the official metal spot - not sure yet. Fortunately, the drip tray is deep enough to compensate for this.Minor niggles do not affect my rating for the machine &, provided it lasts a few years, I'll be highly satisfied with the performance & the excellent coffee. The coffee art thing is a "work in progress" & will probably remain that way for a while yet.I think the machine looks elegant & all aspects of keeping it clean & tidy have been well thought out. Having said that, maybe a concealed "hankie pocket" might be useful for the damp tissue you need to groom it lovingly every day. And finally, daily maintenance of the steam pipe is easy, but you'll need to dismantle the end of the pipe at least once a month to give it a good clean. An amber light comes on & won't let you use the machine until cleaning has been performed to its satisfaction. This doesn't take long but the special pin is located under the water tank & so a bit fiddly to remove. Don't lose the instructions! I have copied & laminated the essential information so that it is easy to find.

This was the Which best buy and I particularly chose it because it said it produced VERY hot coffee on its highest heat setting - and it does - I hate lukewarm coffee! There are 3 heat settings if you don't like yours too hot. It comes extremely well packed and includes a box of about 20 different coffees so you can chose a couple of favourites before purchasing coffee pods. I also tried it with some Costa and Starbucks ones (my favourite cafe coffees) but my favourite is one of the original Nespresso ones - easy to purchase on-line with swift (next day for me) delivery. Produces excellent espressos, cappuccinos and lattes with ease. Cleaning is very easy and well explained - I do a full (every day) clean every time I use it because it's so quick and easy. I do like a good manual - so many things seem to come without them nowadays leaving you to work everything out. Not this - great easy to follow manual. Very glad I bought it except I only intended to have at the most one a day and that has become 2 or 3!

Had this machine for just two days. I had previously been sceptical about such machines, particularly with the Nespresso subscription option that is available on their web-site. Decided to take a look and did some research. This machine is rated as a ‘Best Buy’ (86%) by ‘Which’ magazine. So this was the one for me. I’m so impressed - this machine gives so many variations for so many types of coffee drinks, and the result is just great. I tried the Macchiato earlier as was so impressed with the look of the drink as the coffee filtered through the frothed milk - pure theatre. The coffee from this machine tastes great, and looks great - very impressive. The milk ‘frothing’ wand is an excellent feature and (I guess) sets it aside from cheaper options in the Nespresso-type coffee machine range. It is also very easy to clean - I’m particular impressed with the auto wand-cleaning function. It’s early days, and I do appreciate that there have been a few more negative reviews based on a lengthier experience. Nevertheless, so far - FIVE STARS!

Good "basic" coffee maker. Has 3 settings for coffee - Lungo (large), Espresso (medium) and Ristretto (small), 3 heat settings and 3 froth settings for milk which is sufficient for me. Machine feels good quality although first one did not work reliably. However the returns process through Amazon was very good - I received the replacement even before I had returned the faulty one. Been using the replacement for a couple of weeks now without issue but had a to drop a star for the hassle and frustration of initially being sent a faulty unit. Anyway very happy now with my machine.

Seems to do exactly what it’s description says it does. Very compact, neat and easy to use, and really quick. 3 sizes of coffee to choose from (and you can adjust the lungi size), and if you want to add milk there’s 3 choices of temperature and 3 amounts of froth. All these choices are really easy to select via individual buttons with lights to confirm - no cycling through menus, or pressing combinations of buttons. The range of temperature is good - I’ve found that hot is ‘wait a few minutes for the coffee to cool’, medium is ‘hot but can start sipping now’ and cool is ‘warm’. I found previous machines don’t give really hot coffee but this one does. I made 4 coffees in a row for some friends and it did seem that the froth for the 4th one was a bit less bubbly than the first 3 but the temperature (I used medium) stayed constant.
