I had Total Knee Replacement 9 weeks ago. I'm not going to lie, it is rough. But, this product has worked great. I wasn't sure if it would stick to my knee with how much it bends and straightens, but there are no problems. It goes on easily and adheres well. I used A I and found that it is best to put it on a slightly bent knee so it is not too loose when your knee is straight and not too tight when it is bent. One of the best things I like about it is that it makes it so much easier to massage my scar. It was kind of creepy to me when I actually had to rub my scar when I was using a gel treatment at first. I can't speak to the final result yet as I have only used this tape for about two weeks, but I can already feel that it is not as raised and is much smoother (something that did not happen with the gel.) My physical therapist says it will really help my scar be less visible in the long run. I highly recommend this product! If you are reading this, chances are you have had TKR. These are my favourite kind of tape strips after having surgery. They’re very sticky, if you haven’t used them before it’s comedic trying to get them off your fingertips without transferring them to the other hand. They’re also very fine, so no bulk under clothing and if you have to overlap they don’t pull each other away from the skin. You will need to hold your skin taut as you remove them because, like pulling a Band Aid off, they do have a lot of grip. But I guess that also makes them effective; my surgeon says you need the compression to stop the incisions from raising and becoming puckered. I find them pretty comfortable to wear. They seem to stay stuck better than anything else I tried. Keep the backing sheets to place them back on for showering, etc. One negative, they don’t last as long as expected. I find the corners start to loosen after about four days and the strips become ineffective in places - gaps of about an inch. These are quite expensive per box. I’m using a box (four strips) to cover my scars and my surgeon wants me to continue using them for about six months. That is going to add up to a lot of money. So far my scars are healing well and not raised at all, so the therapy is working but the expense is a factor to consider. Perhaps if you have a small area to cover it’ll be fine for you.

I really like this tape! It was recommended to me by my plastic surgeon for my breast cancer scars because they were becoming bothersome and achy. I like that these are a barrier between the scar and clothing and seems to keep the scar moist and soft. The instructions say to cut to size. I thought I would save and cut them the length and width that I need but found they are so much easier to handle if I only cut them to the length that I need. I take them off and wash them in the shower, hang them to dry and use again about 4-5 times. I also use silicone gel but prefer the tape.

This stuff is great! I purchased it for use after an unexpected c-section, and this helped reduce the appearance of my scar over time. It is not a miracle, but I definitely do believe it helped improve the look of it, so long as you are consistent with it. It stays on pretty well too, so no need to cover it up further.
