Absolutely awesome book!
I have read tjis series before and loved it so much that I am reading it again. I did check them out from the library, but they didn't have this particular one. So I bought it! I will be buying the entire series for my bookshelf! I only read young adult books because I am not into sexual content books. This is a must to buy!! Just make sure you start with the first book and so on! Beautifully written!!

River of Time novellas
These two are novellas that are meant to be read after the River of Time series: Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent. Make sure you have read this series BEFORE you dive into these novellas - you'll have no clue what's going on if you don't.In Bourne, we pick up where Torrent left off. Men are wounded from battle and there is a new threat to the Betarrinis and those they have come to love. Lia still doesn't quite feel like she belongs but knows she won't be going back.Tributary was my favorite story of the two. Alessandra has gotten a head wound while out hunting. Lia and Gabi know that they have no choice but to take her back to their castello even though it is obvious that this girl has come from their enemies. As Alessandra heals, she comes to realize that everything she believes is not as black and white as she first thought.I really loved this series and these two novellas. Finding some closure for Lia, Luca and Rodolfo was nice although not everything is wrapped up in a neat little bow. It has been over two years since I read the River of Time series, but there were enough reminders to help me remember what had been going on - great job by the author on that one! You still have those moments where the "teen" aspect of the book shines through in the language. For me, it sort of broke up the flow but it wasn't bad enough to change my opinion of the stories. These are available separately, but I recommend you buy them together for two reasons. The first is that it is cheaper to buy them together. They are $2.99 separately and $3.99 together. For some, the difference is minimal, but when you buy/read as many books as I do, every little bit helps. The second reason is that both stories are definitely worth reading and you'd be missing out by only reading one. Highly recommended for teens and adults!

Bourne & Tributary--No Disappointments Here!
Bourne & Tributary were wonderful continuations of an already great series. The River of Time Series has been delightful entertainment for this 62 year-old grandmother, as well as a wonderful glimpse back into Italy in the 1300's via two time travelers and their parents who, as archeologists, demand that the girls say or do nothing that will skew history. As Gabriella and Marcello are now wed, the author gives voice to Evangelia, the younger sister, and she and Gabriella guide the reader through the ongoing struggle between the cities of Siena and Florence. Lord Greco, a member of the secret brotherhood to which Gabi's Marcello and Lia's Luca belong, comes as a marked traitor/captive to be executed by the villain Lord Paratore at his villa, which lies next to Marcello's own. The battle fought to try to free Greco is a decisive one in the series, and sets the tone for both of these novellas. Rodolpho Greco emerges as a man with a death wish, and Lia feels she will never be the same, due to amount of killing that has been done with her archer's arrows. The resolution of the many conflicts of this story is well done and satisfying. Kudos galore to Bergren for her skill in presenting loyal, unselfish, loving relationships, whether they are familial, friendships, or budding and maturing romance. While she is not in-your-face with an overt Christian message, her words are well chosen, and her applications are meaningful and deep. I have just discovered that the final installment for this series is in the writing--Deluge! It will be released sometime in 2014--Happy Day!

A Grand Finale
Oh wow...SOOOOO good. Here, we go, a bit about each book.Bourne: Action packed, heart-stopping, and downright amazing. I loved seeing more of Gabi and Marcello, but really, Luca, Lia, and Lord Greco were the main characters of this book. Oh, and just about Luca and Lia in general? <3 Yay. :) Love them so much. Not only did my heart stop a few times in this book, it also spent a great deal of time pounding! Bourne was impossible to put down. It wraps up some suspense left over from Torrent, but left some un-answered questions for...Tributary: Just when you think it can't get any better, any more exciting, any sweeter...it does. Even better than Bourne! Again, packed with everything good and exciting and totally awesome. Less than 20 pages into the book, a kidnapping of a highly important character! The excitement never lets up from there on. And finally - the end is perfect. It wraps up everything you've spent SO much time wondering about.BUT. Having said that? I'd still love to see more in this series! There's got to be some way...Edit: I just recently heard from the author on Twitter, and there will be another short book! Coming in 2013, titled "Deluge." Yippee!

A nice conclusion for the series! Worth the read!
Keep in mind that these are novellas and therefore won't pack in as much as a long novel. But I have to say that for a novella, these stories do not short change you. The characters, relationships and all feel flushed out and well developed. I loved picking back up where Torrent, Book 3 left off and catching back up with the characters that came to seem so real to me. I also enjoyed meeting some new characters.Bourne and Tributary also bring Lia and Luca's story more into play. Lord Greco is back! If like me, you were hoping to see his story played out more - you will! I have to say that a part of me is still not ready to say goodbye to this cast of characters but at the same time I feel quiet pleased with the wrap-up! Thank you Lisa T. Bergren for a fantastic, fun and adventurous read! I enjoyed the romance too and your lessons on faith. God bless!Bourne - 4 1/2 StarsTributary - 4 StarsBy the way loved the actual pictures at the end! Thanks for sharing!

Two excellent Novella - must reads for fans of The River of Time Series!
Review of Bourne -Novella book 3.1 in the River of Time series was just as great as the full length novels in my opinion. And actually I would class it as more of a full length novel anyway. Since it is nearly 200 pages long. This novella picks up right after the end of Torrent, give a day or two. It tells the story of what happened immediatley after the explosive ending of Torrent and this is one of the reasons I loved it so much. We got to see the aftermath of the great battle, what happened to everybody next... all the juicy details that we otherwise wouldn't have known. And to make it even better, we got chapters from Lia's POV. And she is just as amazing a protagonist as Gabbi. Don't get me wrong, I love Gabbi, but I feel like her story is done (for now). She has her man, she has her life and Lia is the one who is currently living the more 'interesting' story... if that makes sense. So it was definitely a logical move to have most of this story told from her POV. She has her own adventure which was thrilling and exciting and also quite shudder inducing... this is medeival times afterall. And we also got to see a little more of Luca... her boyfriend of sorts. I loved that we got to see more interactions between Lia and Luca. I love them in the main books but they are more of a side story in those. But here they got pushed to front and centre and it was really nice to get more into their relationship. If you've read the three full length novels I highly recommend picking this one up!Review of Tributary -Novella book 3.2 in the River of Time Series is, again, brilliant. Like with 3.1, I do feel like this is more of a full lenth book. Its certainly one of the longest novellas I've read before which is fine by me because the more I get to spend in this series the better! This one introduces us to a new character, a girl from the enemy city Firenze. She is injured in Sienna terratory but when Marcello and the others take her in to care for her it sparks their enemy to again set about declaring war with Sienna. The sisters are again in the middle of everything and Lia in particular has a lot to deal with in this book. The story is about 1 year after the end of 3.1 so its nice in that we get to see where everyone is at after a good amount of time. Due to the events of what happened in 3.1 Lia is struggling to pick up her bow again and has to come to terms with what happened and how she wants to live her life going forward. This involves Luca very heavily and as with the last novella, I'm very happy that we got to see a lot more of him. He's a really great character. We also got a few third person chapters in this novella, sometimes following the girl from Firenze, sometimes Lord Greco and even a couple instances with Luca. I thought these sections really added something extra to the story and I would be happy to see more of these chapters in the future book.So again, another brilliant installment to this medieval time travelling series.

a really cool series
I am not usually a Lisa Tawn Bergren fan mainly because I seem to have outgrown the age of her usual audience. However, with the river of times series she did a phantastic job. The books will no doubt catch just about anyones interest who is very much into adventure, romance and who doesn't mind a bit of fantasy and a good laugh now and then. In this series Lisa wields words like her heroes wield their swords and I have to take my hat off at her achievement. I can highly recommend the complete series!I did take away one star for book number 4 but not because I didn't like it's content. The book contains two stories which are rather shorter than the last three books and though I am really very glad that there is another book everything seems to have been done in a hurry. The feel and texture of the cover of the first three books was quite special and added something extra to the books but number 4 is of really poor quality in comparison. Not sure if this is the same in America because my book says "Printed in Germany by Amazon Distribution GmbH Leipzig" on the last page. You may not feel the same way about it but with the two shorter stories and the different wrapping the book just feels a mite different and slightly as if not belonging with the rest of the series. In addition the first three books were written from Gabi's point of view but the new book switches from one person's point of view to another and it sometimes takes a paragraph or two until you realise whose head your in. But having said that I must also add that the two stories in this book are no less intriguing than the first three and I really liked them all.

Enjoyable
I enjoyed the previous 3 books so it's no surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed these novellas. I liked reading it from Lia's perspective and getting a glimpse into her and Lucas story. My only complaint is that Tributary seemed a little disjointed with jumping from different characters perspectives. I hope the next book is either told be both sisters or just Gabi, I did miss swooning over Gabi and Marcelo in these books.Anyway, excellent read and I cannot wait for the next book!!!!!!

This is a continuation of the River of Time series.
I really enjoyed Evangelia and Luca's love story, as well as the different perspectives. Bourne and Tributary was a very exciting, romantic and an overall AMAZING book. I really hope Lisa Bergren decides to write a final book in this series; I'm dying to find out what happens with Gabriella and Lia and Luca. Bourne and Tributary is definitely one of my favourites in the River of Time series!
