This radio is a joy to tune. Simply Amazing.
The Daogoly PR-108 AM FM portable radio is an amazing DSP receiver. It reminds me of my favorite NIA RD-206SP...could this be a replacement?Search the model and my name on Youtube for a full featured video review.Features I like about this radio:* Solid Construction.* FM reception is good.* AM reception is fantastic during the day and night.* Power LED indicator.* Low Cost.* Speaker is decent for it's small size.* Headphone jack.* Belt Clip.* Operates on AA batteries...nice having the extra capacity on a smaller radio.* DSP done right.Features that could be added or improved on:* A slightly more expanded dial so it's not so tricky to tune those distant stations.* A longer antenna.* Better selectivity on both bands would make this radio the ulitmate rock star.Overall, a must buy at it's low price. This radio is a joy to tune. Simply Amazing. This is my go to recommendation for an inexpensive DSP receiver.

Reliable radio
Decent little radio...comes in a nice box. Dials are nice and rigid. Antenna feels a little chintzy...hopefully it won’t come off. Excellent reception in the AM/PM bands. I really depend on the clip so I can do chores or perform tasks while listening to Rush. Radio comes with me wherever I go around the house thanks to the clip. Reception stays solid as I walk around house or outside. Good deal for the price.

Poor Build Quality and Components
In a word: Junk. Do not buy.I really wanted to like this radio. The tuner is quite good, however, the build quality is extremely sloppy and peripheral components are sub-standard. It worked for a couple of weeks and then died on me. I work in a research lab as a tech/engineer, so I know my way around a circuit board, am good with a soldering iron, etc., so I figured I'd take it apart and repair it, which I did. When I opened it up I was horrified to see the extremely poor build quality: solder joints that were hanging on by a thread, the cheapest switch and headphone jack I'd ever seen, cold solder joints on the circuit board, etc. I went over the entire radio, fixing all of the poor solder joints I found, spraying contact cleaner into the switch and headphone jack, etc. This fixed it for a couple of weeks and then it did it again. So I opened it up, started over, etc. Wash, rinse, repeat. I did this maybe half a dozen times and finally today it failed permanently. Even if you're really good with a soldering iron, know what you're doing with a circuit board, etc., this radio will probably not last you 6 months.Bottom line: the tuner is good but the rest of the radio is junk. Find another radio and save yourself a lot of headaches.

Daogoly PR-108
The Daogoly PR-108 proves that good things can come in small packages. There certainly is a lot to like about this radio. The sensitivity on AM is outstanding! This radio does a great job at picking up distant stations. Selectivity is quite good also. It also features the expanded AM band.FM is more than adequate.More things I like:This truly is a pocket sized radio. It has a clip if you prefer to attach it that way.It runs on two AA batteries for extended run time. This is much better than radios which use AAA's.Things that I am not crazy about:The tuning scale is off by a fair amount on my example. But given that the sensitivity is so good, and it only cost $12, I can live with it.Build quality is ok, not great. Don't drop it! Again though, $12 super sensitive radio...All in all, the Daogoly PR-108 is a very enjoyable radio to use. I highly recommend adding it to your collection as it is a great performing, up to date pocket radio.

Nice little handheld radio for an emergency kit
I purchased this for a "get home" bag. Something that I can put in an emergency kit. It works very well for a small hand-held radio. No problems picking up multiple radio stations in the metropolitan area in which I live. Uses 2 AA batteries and standard earbuds plug right in. No stereo sound but this is for information gathering more than listening to music. Put this radio, a couple of spare AA batteries and a pair of cheap earbuds in a ziplock bag and keep them in your "hurricane kit", "bug out bag", "get home bag" or natural disaster kit. It's a very inexpensive way to make sure you can stay informed if you find yourself without access to other means of communication. This is not a high quality piece of gear. It's cheap and so is the sound quality of the internal speaker. It's cheaply made and feels like it in your hand. It's not going to put up with any significant abuse. However, mine works great for its intended purpose and I like that it has an external antennae for improving reception. I'll buy a couple more for other emergency kits. I wanted to try one before I bought more.

Best Small Portable Radio Ever
I looked and looked before I decided on the daogoly. I wanted a radio I could easily carry around and the clip on it was the final deciding factor besides the high rating by other customers. The antenna extends up only (it doesn't rotate() 7 inches. The AM works great. I have to be careful to not get it close to any electronics because it will pick up static (it picks up my wifi static when I get it 6 inches from my computer). I haven't tried it with earbuds yet, but the sound is good for such a compact radio. It is clear and easy to listen to with the volume relatively low. I am going to buy one for my step-son who also wants a small portable radio he can carry around. He liked the idea of the clip, too.

Perfect for my needs and great price
This little radio is a delight. It can easily be held in the palm of your hand and fits easily into a pocket or purse. The sound is clear, and the analog dial for finding stations works quite well. I bought two, one for emergency kit and one for a friend to use at work so she doesn’t use up her phone battery. She moves around to three different floors in her building and has no problem with reception wherever she goes. I am so glad I chose this product over many other options.
