Truly an experience
I sincerely enjoyed this great documentary. Terry Kath’s daughter, Michelle embarks on a quest to know her father, and takes us along for the ride. It is her journey, but you can’t help but root for her to succeed. Michelle makes you feel like you are in this with her to the end. Very well edited and organized. Great interviews with the people who knew Terry, worked with him, and loved him as a friend, a husband, a brother (both literally and musically), and father. Very open, honest, and emotional. You get a real sense of how much Terry means to these people, to this very day. Terry has been called the heart and soul of the band Chicago, but until I saw this documentary, I thought it was because of his musical prowess as one of the most underrated guitarists ever to pick up an axe. I now understand that it was much, much more. I have always believed that artistic expression is not a person plying their craft, but rather an expression of the personality of the artist. Terry’s playing has boldness, joy, creativity, musicality, improvisation, nuance, and subtlety. This documentary shows that so did his life.I remember reading Danny Seraphine’s book “Street Player” in which he talks about how he grabbed Terry’s tour jacket after he had accidentally shot himself and was able to eventually give it to Michelle. In this documentary, Michelle presents a sub-plot of her going on a hunt to find Terry’s number one, a modified Telecaster he used almost exclusively. Hiding for many, many years she finally finds it. Like I said, it is her quest, but she brings us in, and you want her to achieve her goal.I highly recommend this interesting, informative, and insightful documentary. As anyone who has heard Terry play knows, he was highly creative. This experience shows that creativity runs in the family. Well done, Michelle!

A must see!
One of the MOST under rated guitarists of all time. If you are unfamiliar with Terry Kath, I suggest you indulge yourself and enjoy. Just great.

beware if you return
the reason for the 1 star is NOT for the DVD, the DVD is great but it was a duplicate gift so returned via the UPS store in the allotted time, in the same condition received, unopened, undamaged. Only received a partial (50%) refund with zero explanation as to why.update: after multiple attempts I finally was able to speak to an actual person in customer service and eventually got a full refund, but I will be very wary of purchasing dvd's or cd's from amazon in the future...have been purchasing them for years and have had to return a few and was never charge a restocking fee nor was it mentioned in description or with the return instructions and label.

Long overdue re-assessment of the great Terry Kath
Terry Kath was the leader of Chicago for the halcyon period from 1967-1977 during that time his blistering and innovative guitar playing (plus the horns and three lead vocalists) were at the forefront of music. If you listen to their debut record CTA it sounds fresh as on the day of its release. This documentary is long overdue and now we can appreciate what a talent he was writing, playing and singing - he did it all. Terry's demise is covered here and it's a sad tale - even sadder is the decline of the band following his death, and the innovative writing of Robert Lamm consigned to an end of the pier show - and don't get mention David Foster the Simon Cowell mentor of Chicago.Terry was a great and the film from his daughter should now allow a complete reassessment of Terry Kath. The segment about the writing and recording 'Introduction' was superb - that is up there with anything The Beatles gave us. I awlays thought Robert Lamm was the driving force this corrects that. As the film progresses you can see the physical chnages and that his habits were taking their toll.Nice to see Joe Walsh, Steve Lukather & Mike Campbell paying their respects. After watching this a few times you can only imagine where Terry would have gone with his own band and would Mr Lamm have settled for the soft ballads or where TK could have taken him - still would have loved to hear that conversation with TK and David Foster.

Hopefully the rumours can now be laid to rest. RIP dear Terry Kath.
Just in case you're too young to remember, nor a devoted Chicago fan from the very beginning (Chicago Transit Authority) or followed the venture, you should still purchase this DVD to educate yourself on the life and death of Terry Kath. This motivational in depth documentary of Terry Kath involves many people who had the courage to come forward to enlighten Chicago fans regarding the untimely death of such a genius.Pour a few drinks, put on the headphones, crank up the volume, and have tissues ready. If this DVD does not shed a tear or few, you'll still love the documentary. Many thanks to all the fan-based members of Terry Kath on social media, to all those who helped put this documentary together, and last but not least, to Terry's daughter Michelle who went out into the world to try and piece together the life of her father who died before Michelle could get to know what a devoted father, husband, family oriented, and of course all the musicians and friends Terry met along the way.

A Daughter's Moving Tribute to Her Dead Dad
By now if you're "searching for Terry" via this documentary, you know how it was made and by whom. So I'll skip all that and get to the salient details:Good: Lots of old footage, plus really good interviews. Even Pete Cetera breaks his Chicago diet to weigh in.Interesting: Daughter Michelle's take on Kath's drug use--"I think he just liked taking drugs"--and former wife Camelia's assertion that Kath *was* going to leave Chicago for a power trio he was calling Cook County.Meh: The somewhat manufactured subplot of Michelle's search for Kath's modified Telecaster--SPOILER ALERT--she finds it tucked away in her step-grandmother's bedroom closet. Zzzzzzzz.Overall: Well made and interesting; better than the official NOW MORE THAN EVER.--Bill Fleck, author of GIMME A SHOW: 50 YEARS ON THE ROCK & ROLLERCOASTER, an unauthorized biography of James Pankow, trombonist with Chicago

Shipping from USA
The name of the Company includes EU so I thought it was shipping from EU but it’s shipping from USA. So I had to pay a lot of taxes. And the DVD is another region so I can’t play it. So 35 GBP for nothing.

It is a great documentary, you can see that the band members
Since I heard about it, I was curious to see it, As a Chicago fan everything Before Jason, and after.....The crusade of a young girl to discover who was her famous dad Terry Kath ( Chicago). It is a great documentary, you can see that the band members, still have problems talking about it.... I Love the part when some member of the family and friends. Mention how Terry was fed up of the brass section, he wanted to have a 3 piece band...Just guitar, bass and drum....( A Jimi Hendrix trio kind of thing )......JImi who once said that, Terry was way better then him....JImi was very humble too, but Terry is consider like an under rated guitar player by guys like Steve Lukather of Toto and Joe Walsh James gang /Eagles. A great documentary great moments shared with Terry's wife and daugther......I love it, But again i'm a fan from the old Chicago.with Peter. Terry and Danny on drums.....

Touching tribute to an all-time great
Apparently people have forgotten about the great Terry Kath. Shame. This very poignant documentary reveals the man and the musician through the eyes of his daughter, who was just two years old when Kath died. Highly recommended viewing, whether you remember this incredible guitarist/singer/songwriter or not.
