Saves an otherwise unloved camera.
*Review for the Fujifilm x100t*Saves an otherwise unloved camera. I bought a Fujifilm x100t in 2016, and while it had a steep learning curve for me (coming from Canon) the grip was the biggest issue. I was afraid to use it because I just couldn't get a good grip on it without a wrist strap for a "just in case" drop, it took too long, but I wanted to see if a thumb grip would help with this, but I did not want to spend the $60 for the Lensmate one without knowing if this would help. Let me say, IT DOES. This improved the usability of this camera 100% for me. I do wish it was a bit longer, but for the price, I really can't complain. For $6 (at the time of writing this) the finish is not flawless, but there are also no sharp edges. A hex-key is included to tighten the grip down to the hot shoe, and even when I tried to loosen the grip by moving it, it would not budge. It does not cover any buttons or the dial, but the shutter speed selector is a bit harder to get to.For $6 it is worth at least trying to see if it will help with your camera.

works as expected, just alittle higher than i expected.
clear and simple, it works and functions great... i googled pictures of what a "thumb grip" actually is and then saw some pics of it on other cameras and got a good idea how it should look like, and what it does.it works as it should and gives good stability to the camera and easier to hold.the only problem I had with it was that it was alittle higher than I expected to be.. I thought it would curve down more or atleast be lower (the thumb part).. as we speak, it is on my camera and it is kinda in the way of the dial that has the different settings (A, S, M, P, movie mode etc.).. not REALLY a big deal b/c i can still manage to turn the dial (there is enough clearance under the thumb grip so you can place your thumb partially on the dial and your index around to turn the dial)HOWEVER, the fact that this whole thumb grip... looks like a old school film lever from the old retro film cameras is a big plus and actually it being higher than I expected gives off that illusion even more.so for that i only give it 4..

Well made but the fit depends on your camera's layout.
I purchased this for a Canon EOS M1. It fits great and looks good, but when you put your thumb completely in the indentation your thumb will probably hit the touch screen and turn something on or off by accident. Therefore to keep this from happening you have to put your thumb on the tip of the handle rather in the indentation...i.e. it is too short. Also the handle sits just about over the power switch making it a little hard to turn the camera on and off, as you have to stick you finger down into the space between the handle and switch. Unless you need to do quick on/off's this shouldn't be an issue. You could set the whole arm out a little and this would help with the switch. A half inch longer would have been great. But this is only for the EOS M...it may be fine for your camera.

Makes holding an X-E1 easier
From a purely functional point of view this works very well. It makes the camera much easier to hold, especially as the Fujifilm camera lacks a good grip on the front. The set screw pushes against a pad that holds the grip in the flash shoe. That works well. Other makes of thumb grip that don't have the set screw can easily slide out and get lost. The one down side of the set screw is that it requires the allen wrench to remove the thumb grip whenever using a flash in the hot shoe.

Meh... not really for the EOS M
It's a'ight. It does the job. I got this for the Canon EOS M (which this supposedly fits). It does fit and coupled with an add-on grip, it add a lot better grip to the smooth EOS M body. But as someone else pointed out, it's a bit short, meaning your thumb covers the upper right corner of the LCD. It also makes hitting the on/off button on the EOS M nigh impossible if you have anything but wee fairy fingers.Honestly, I'd keep looking around.

It's great if you don't plan to remove it
It's great if you don't plan to remove it, if you do it's a pain because the allen screw is so small and it's easily over tightened, it was a pain to get it out so now I leave it semi loose in case I have to take it off my camera to use a flash.

One time use
I wish it were longer. For medium size point and shoot cameras (the smaller ones don't have a shoe) the length is short for medium sized hand. And of course with larger cameras it is way short. In addition the friction pad on the bottom is only glued in place. Once you tighten tighten the set screw to hold it on one camera if you loosen the screw and remove the thumb grip the little friction pad can fall out of it.

Works well with X100F with Minor Exception
This works well with my Fuji X100F. I had to pull it forward a bit before locking it down so I could get a better grip on the shutter speed dial. If you ride this dial then this may not be for you. Otherwise itโs a great alternative to the $60 - albeit more flexible- version.

Better Then the More Expensive Ones
Compared to other Thumbs Up grips on the market this thing rocks. Some of the higher end versions are upwards of $200 bucks and they do exactly the same thing as the Fotga series. I bought this to mount to my Leica M8 and it fits in and functions superbly. I have since recommended this to all my photographer friends. The thumbs up comes with a tiny screw that secure the thumbs up in position. Once tightened it stays securely in place. If you use a speedlight you might want to make sure you always have the allen key with you as thats the only way to take it off. Its more so shooters that do not need speedlights attached to the camera or else you might find it a pain to take it off/on.A wonderful quality product regardless of the price. You will be impressed.

Really thought Iโd like this!
Based on reviews I really thought this thumb grip would change my experience of my already beloved X100F but all it adds is unecessary opportunity to snag on things. This grip did not enhance my photography experience and Iโm happy to live without it.Of course all hands are different, I have long, skinny fingers and donโt find gripping the X100F a problem, I just hoped (based on reviews) that this thumb grip would somehow make my experience better. It doesnโt.

Works A-OK for me
Sure it's not a Lensmate but it's not the cost either (even worse if you are converting to $Cdn.). For my Fuji X20 it works perfectly and looks good; doesn't really interfere with dials. I put a small piece of protective felt between the tightening screw and the hot shoe, just to add some protection when screwing it down. Sometimes you can feel the grip shift very slightly so I tighten it down well and the felt protects everything. Other than that it works perfectly for me and the price was right! I'd order it again.

Well Built but prevents Screen to be used in Selfie mode on X-A3
Well Built but prevents Screen to be used in Selfie mode on the Fujifilm X-A3. It doesn't allow the screen to be flipped all the way. It is very well built but it's also too short. I find that my thumb is reaching more than necessary to rest on it. Regardless of the above it still serves its purpose.

Usable camera accessory
Hey this item is 90% cheeper than some notable competitors and is sturdy metal composition. I used it on my Fuji x100f on my trip to Germany and found it a must have. Sits a tad shorter back from the rotary select switch so doesn't interfere with any controls. Looks sweet. My fingures are long so I reach it comfortably mabye if you've got stubs it would be more of a reach not sure. I love it and would give double thumbs up especially for the money. Highly recommended.
