Incredible feel!
I love the look of them as much as the feel, they're just lovely and silky and LOUD. Very good!

#1 strings to purchase no matter the gauge.
I've strung virtually every guitar I own and have set-up with these no matter the gauge or guitar and basses for a long time. DR Strings are IMHO the best handmade strings in the world and out of their entire range the BlackBeauties are the best (once you get used to them which truly doesn't take long). Not here to name drop so I will just say that one of their leading endorsers turned me onto BlackBeauties when they were first released, I was already using a few other DR String sets. After noodling for about 15 minutes I had 'the feel' and I've not looked back since. These strings hold their tune, feel fantastic to use, last way longer than any other brand I've used outside of DR Strings and even some of the DR String range. Some people take a little longer to get 'the feel' of BlackBeauties but those I've introduced them to, be it bass or guitar have switched to these and stayed with them like myself. The only drawback is when it comes to six string bass sets, the availability and cost in the UK is hard to deal with, almost double the cost as they are in the USA and very short supplies in the UK. Now if only they'd do their Drop D strings in the same finish.

Great looking strings
Bought these for their looks as I play a fully back Epiphone LP. Generally love them, although they tend to last a little less time than my go standards (ErnieBall). Slight loss of tome but nothing too noticeable. They feel great and to my mind are reasonably priced.

Sound better than other coloured strings
I'm a bit out of practice, so my guitar sounds a bit cr*p, but, either clean or driven, the strings sound superb, not what I'd expect from coated strings, I've had coloured ones before and they all sound a bit dull, by not these! Awesome

Nice
Like these a lot actually, very nice and very black. Overall nice strings, although if you have only been playing a couple of years like myself, I did find myself feeling as if the strings were invisible against my dark fret board ;)

Would not buy again
They looked great ... for about 20 minutes playing, then the black coating began shredding off the picking area of the string - and on the second day the areas over the frets were beginning to lose their coating, and it became clear that these strings really aren't worth the money. I found myself re-tuning much more often even though I have locking tuners and no trem system ... I'd avoid personally.

Pretty, as strings go, but...
They're certainly novel, but whilst they remain sounding OK, the black soon comes off the lighter strings. Doesn't appear to change the sound. And my pick attack isn't particularly vicious.

Wow really surprised at how loud these coated strings are I usually have elixirs on everything but these are just as good on my electric guitar for sure if not better! I just put them on so I will see in a month if they stand up to my sweaty hands. So far the black coating stays on the strings and only the strings. Good price too.

While tuning E the most thick string it broke and most already the black coating going off from first day of use. Not recommended

Black wears off eventually, but DR makes great strings. Have used them for years.

Super schöne saiten. Leider ist die oberste Saite nicht dick genug und wabbelt bei drop A ziemlich rum

Casual player, bought these to spice up by black guitar. they look great, and play great and feel really good on my fingers. The 'g' string, though, lost its coating around the playing position after only a few days - and although it still plays fine, it looks a little scruffy. Give them their due - I contacted DR strings, and they offered to replace it - great customer service indeed. (I declined the offer - honestly it's fine to play, and mailing from USA to AUS will probably cost more than the cost of the string!) Will certainly buy again!
