The Blue Planet: Seas of Life and Blue Planet II all on one release! The Blue Planet is one of the most breathtaking explorations of the world’s oceans ever assembled. Before creating the monumental Planet Earth, the BBC created The Blue Planet: Seas of Life which showed the oceans in a way they had never been seen before – that is, until Blue Planet II. In recent years, our knowledge of what goes in our Ocean has been transformed. Blue Planet II uses cutting-edge breakthroughs in science and technology to explore new worlds and extraordinary animal behaviors.

Great nature stories
These are wonderful sets and adventures. They capture stories of animals and fish that are amazing and one would never suspect. Gives you a tremendous respect for our planet and it diversity. Also explains how animals have adjusted to survive.

David Attenbourough at his BEST!
If you enjoy wildlife videos, then you would be insane not to have this in your collection. Easily one of the best documentaries available.

great to have BP 1 on BD and BP 2 together in one package
I saw BP 1 live on old style analog TV when broadcasted in 2001 and it was breathtaking. At the time their film and video were shot, Jacques Cousteau was alive, and after he died his series was still shown in re-runs and was the best there was, until BP, which just blew every documentary about the oceans away. I watched it multiple times on DVD. Unfortunately, on HDTV the source material shows its age, much of it upconverted from SD material they must have on master, and this is written in small print on the rear of the box. I do own the original DVD of BP 1 and the good news is its better on BD than the original DVD. 18 years since, I've seen many of the creatures and oceans shown on BP myself, live, in the oceans, and can attest how difficult it is to drag old style cameras in the water prior to 2008. A GoPro or cheap clone today, can take better video that most of the pro gear taken to water before 2008. BP II extreme clarity clearly shows how obsolete BP 1 is in terms of video technology.Prosdisks run quick and easy to navigate, no frills menus make response fastBP 2 on BD is clearer than streaming or via cable materialclearer BP 1 on BP than the official DVD release, which I own and comparedConsBP 1 source material is old and dated, but can't minus a star given that's as good as it got back then. It could use a good remastering but I think the BBC would rather refilm the same using better gear than squeeze blood from a stone.

Educational great video
If you have young children or not, this is a great watch. Because it’s nature, there will be sad parts. Sad part’s because we are destroying our planet. Very educational.

BBC at its Best
I bought this as a birthday gift for my fiancé. The photography is amazing and the narration is superb. My only complaint is that the cover of one of the DVD’s was badly damaged. Fortunately, the discs were fine. I need to find a replacement case (that holds 4 DVDs)....any ideas??

Mostly good but too much run-time on polar bears and penguins.
I watched the entire thing in a 1-week period and it's mostly good but honestly feels like half the run-time covers polar bears and penguins. Enough polar bears and penguins already!
