Avengers: Infinity War [DVD]

Probably the best MCU movie IMO. Endgame comes close but this is the most solid, it's a super tight watch that really brings the heroes to life. And Thanos is the ultimate villain. A must watch.

Fun movie, especially if you love this genre

I remember reading somewhere that while Star Wars had a new lease on life, that Avengers Infinity War was this generation's Empire Strikes Back. A sequel so valued for its ability to not only entertain but to shock and awe its audience. I'm happy to say that this movie is that and so much more.Ten years and eighteen movies have led up to what is now revealed as the adaptation of Marvel’s Infinity Gauntlet storyline. Without a doubt, this story was not just going to be explained as a single movie or even a trilogy but several films spanning several years as dozens of the actors from all these movies come together in this glorious epic.Starting from where Thor Ragnarok left off, the vessel that left Asgardian with Thor and his friends is attacked by the Mad Titan Thanos as his mission to obtain the Infinity Stones has begun and the rest of the Avengers prepare to fend off him and his minions on their planet and his.This movie’s cast is phenomenal as everyone from Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man to Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther come together as well as dozens more in between come together in a story of spectacular action and storytelling. Directed by the Russo Brothers from Captain America Winter Soldier and Civil War, the two men do Joss Whedon proud and deliver a great story. With a surprising ending to say the least. Truly the Empire Strikes Back of our generation.It's been said that heroes are only as good as their villain and James Brolin is an exceptional actor who brings to life Thanos with such realism that truly outdoes the cameos he made in the previous movies. Truly he gets to shine alongside such heroes because he delivers.Glad to own this on Blu-ray 4K but I got to say that either the Russo brothers didn’t take advantage of IMAX or it was decided against it with this movie. Such an epic and it deserved the IMAX feature on home video. Still, the features are fun, with behind the scenes footage and some neat deleted scenes.Great film and it's only the first half.

Is everyone in this movie? I think so, except for Odin and a few others who died earlier.That alone amazes me. Managing, from a writing perspective, so many major characters is astounding. Thor's a star. So is Iron Man. Dr. Strange too. And they do so splendidly.You probably know this. You aren't reading this review to convince you to see the movie. You either have seen it or are getting ready to see it online. Get on with it; it is a great movie.The story is fundamentally a quest for each hero and Thanos (the villain), as well as for the Avengers as a group. They all make errors of judgment which leads to the showdown with Thanos. They each fail to make the required sacrifice and bad things happen. It is more than just action. There's love, greed, power, family, war, and more. Oh, and a rabbit, sort of.Avengers: Infinity War is about Thanos' pursuit of the Infinity Stones. If he has all five, he has more power than anyone in the universe. That's a big deal for obvious reasons, but Thanos believes he is a good man. He thinks when he vanquishes half a planet's population, he is allowing it to survive. His own planet died through overpopulation.The movie, despite all the fantastic elements, is structured not unlike the classic tale of Hercules. In "The Twelve Labors of Heracles (or of Hercules)." Not much to say about this DVD. I bought it as a gift. It came fully sealed and the case wasn't damaged.I would purchase from this seller again

What more can be said about this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it over and over.
