Beautiful, Nice Size, Well Made
First of all, the board I received is beautiful, with a nice smoothly finished surface all around, except for one very small, almost unnoticeable 1/4" nick under one of the handles. So, it's not perfect, but it's no where near the cutting area, and it certainly wasn't worth even considering returning, especially when everything else about the board is so fantastic.Of course the board comes completely naked, with no finish, so it's imperative that you apply a mineral oil finish BEFORE you use it. I used Howard BBC012 Butcher Block Conditioner, and as soon as I began rubbing it in, the wood's grain came alive. It's very important to heat up your mineral oil. The Howard's conditioner (which also contains bees wax) was more gel like when it arrived, and it needed to be heated to the point that it finally became liquid, and that's when it really began soaking deep into the wood. I applied 2 coats the day the board arrived, letting it sit overnight, then applied a 3rd coat the next day. The way it makes the grain shine is amazing, and the bees wax helps provide a moisture barrier for the wood. It's funny, I had thought this 18x14 board might be too large for my tiny kitchen, and had considered the 16x12 board, but this one is absolutely the perfect size. I had also considered some of the 2" thick boards, but again, this 3/4" thick board is perfect. It has enough heft to not move at all during cutting, but it's still relatively easy to maneuver for cleaning in the sink. By the way, it's important to NOT let these soak in water when cleaning, and to always dry them before putting away. Simply clean with soap and water, then quickly dry with a towel.I use this primarily for chopping veggies for my evening salad, and I can't imagine anything more suited for that purpose than this board. I'll report back in 6 months or a year, but for now, I'm a happy camper.

Top rate fit and finish, attractive, perfect for high quality knives
My new favorite cutting board. I replaced two bamboo cutting boards that were constantly dulling my Nafzger and Tojiro knives and relegated them to use as oversized trivets. The fit and finish of the Teakhaus board is top notch - no complaints. Bamboo is very hard and the striations on the wood grain are tough on knife blades. Bamboo boards are find for use with a meat cleaver but not for top end cutlery. The teak board I got was exactly as pictured and the dimensions are spot on. The groove is cut about halfway into the board which is 3/4" thick. I read some of the 1 star reviews about these boards warping and I have a suspicion that some or all of these folks put the board in the dishwasher which you absolutely should NOT do. You should also oil BOTH sides of the board monthly or more often if it's hand washed frequently. I use mineral oil because it's non-toxic, cheap and won't oxidize like olive or canola oil.I've had this board a few weeks and use it daily. I oiled it on arrival and let is soak in the oil overnight and then wiped dry with a paper towel. The boards gets hand washed in lukewarm water with dish soap and rinsed clean and then dried. If I have any issues in the future, I'll report back

Proteak board is nice but not excellent
I recently purchased the Proteak 16 by 12 by 3/4-Inch Cutting Board, and am so far very pleased with my purchase.Pros:Sturdy ConstructionThe corner hole is great for hanging the board up to ensure that it dries completely.I like the grooves that are routed on two sides of the board, letting me pick up the board easily from the counter when it's placed flat-side-down on the counter.Having both sides usable for different purposes is a plus.Cons:The board arrived feeling rough, and there were some splinters that needed removing from some of the routing edges. I am tempted to lightly sand the entire thing with a fine grit paper, but so far it has not been a functional problem. The colors of the wood components vary wildly, from a dusty greenish grey to a reddish dark brown. I seasoned the board using Howard's Butcher Block Conditioner (which I love), and it helped the wood to look nicer.Would I buy this board again? Definitely. It could be more aesthetically pleasing, but so far it seems like a great board for the price point.

Meets our expectations completely
Right size, bought food grade oil for it. The teak is beautiful. Easy to handle.

Very “fuzzy” and splintery out of box
It’s extremely splintered straight out of the box and not at all smooth

A little disappointed
Love the look of this board but it was very rough and made me wonder if I should I sand it before oiling it

Great board and fantastic service
Board came with a "fuzzy" wood texture on the cutting surface, was sent a replacement which has been fantastic! 1 year later the board is still in great shape, use it a couple times a week and recondition monthly. Much better for knives than bamboo.

Good quality board
Although it's slightly thinner than I expected (I did read the measurements) it's still a high quality board, just make sure to oil it before use. Questionable packaging from the seller but I suppose it's quite hard to damage in transit.
