HOBO Vintage Alice Wallet

This is my first (but definitely not my last) Hobo wallet. A friend recommended the Lauren wallet, but at almost 9" long, that seemed much larger than what I wanted.Enter the Alice. Actual size is 6" long, roughly 4" high (at the kiss closure) and about 1" thick at it's fattest point. I carry medium sized handbags and, for me, this is the perfect size. The interior currency pocket fits bills without having to fold them in half. There are seven pockets for credit cards, an ID window and four other slip pockets for miscellaneous papers, etc., as well as a very handy outside pocket on the back for things you want to access without having to open up the whole wallet. The design is very well thought out and I think it is very stylish as well. It is still large enough to be carried out of one's handbag as a small clutch, without being huge like a full checkbook wallet.The large kiss closure pocket is great! It snaps shut securely and opens nice and wide so you can easily see inside. I know it is meant for change, but I don't carry coins so I have been experimenting with alternative uses: So far I can tell you that it will fit my iPhone 5, or a compact mirror and a couple lip glosses. The Alice is so versatile that I have actually been leaving my handbag in my car and using it as a clutch when I run errands, and it has been fantastic.I ordered the Tangerine color, unsure of what it would actually look like because the photo makes it look more tan. Happily, it really is a nice subtle Caribbbean orange color...very summery and not at all garish. The leather feels smooth and nice and the interior lining is a fun graphic print.I am so impressed with the Alice that I have just gone back and ordered another color : )

I love this wallet. The leather is so soft and the color is very nice. It is high quality, so I know I'll get plenty of years out of this wallet. It holds lots of cards, and the money pocket is nice and deep. The snap closure is secure. Great quality!

This wallet with a enough room/storage that isn't a checkbook wallet. Who carries checkbooks?I already owned this wallet in lilac, so I have just bought the floral print. The print is very bold, but that is why I like it. I really like the look and function of this wallet.This is a bi-fold and the cash pocket is deep. There are 8 card holders, including one with a clear plastic film. 4 of the card holders are leather (which stretches so for lesser used cards) and 4 of the card holders are nylon (for the more used cards). There are 4 slide pockets inside and 1 slide pocket on the outside.It fits nicely in my purse, but it still has enough substance to just be carried as a clutch wallet on its own.

I was looking for a wallet that had a kiss lock for my change, enough slots for all my necessary cards, a clear slot for my driver's license, and a cash compartment. I was looking to replace a Coach wallet that had seen better days. This wallet met all my requirements and may have even surpassed them. I found it also had a small outside pouch to hold my receipts or lists. Overall size is perfect and does not become bulky when filled (which my old wallet did). It fits easily in my jacket pocket for quick errand running. There were many colors to choose from and I chose the copper color. I am glad I did because it looks rich and is easy to locate in my bag. The leather is soft and rich looking. This wallet fit all my needs and I would highly recommend it.

Update: have to downsize on the stars - the wallet started falling apart after 2 months of fairly gentle use - the thread holding the round piece of leather by the clasp came undone, looks terrible now with the thread coming out, I guess I'll be forced to pull it all out :-( upon further inspection the same thing is happening in two other places. Not cool!Original review:So so so cute! Very beautiful, medium-sized wallet, which is exactly what I was looking for. Has compartments for all my needs (cards, ID, cash, change, etc.). I got the Hunter color - it's an emerald green/turquoise color, very beautiful! I love, love, love, love it!Only thing to consider - the leather is soft, like the kind on a jacket. I hope it's sturdy!

This wallet is beautiful and of very nice quality. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it's a tight fit for bills (in the bill section of the wallet). Also, when you need to access the coin section, it's a bit inconvenient to have to unsnap the wallet first. Otherwise, very nice quality of leather and a beautiful print. There is a lot of room for credit cards and a separate window ID compartment. Checks and/or register will not fit easily unless you fold checks and/or have the register sticking out. These things are not deal-breakers; I just wanted to share what I consider to be flaws (based on my personal preference).

I LOVE Hobo leather! The quality is outstanding... it's soft but durable and will last for years. I've had Hobo bags and wallets for 10 years and they look brand new, I get compliments all the time. This wallet did not disappoint. I bought the Alice because I needed something shorter for smaller purses. The coin purse section closes tightly and can fit a lot of change, extra business cards, kids' treats, etc. In a cheaper wallet, this section would pop open and spill, but the Hobo closer is strong. This fits all the cards and cash I need and can fit in a very small bag or clutch for easy purse-exchanging on the go. Enjoy!

I am crazy about the design of this wallet. It combines a spacious coin purse with a billfold in a medium size that fits into smaller handbags. However, the leather is very soft and scratches easily. Also, on the potentially negative side, the snap that holds the wallet together seems a bit flimsy. Hoping it holds up as the design is terrific.
