If I go down, it'll be spraying and zapping. Also may work on loose dogs. So far I have never used either the pepper spray or zapper. What I LIKE: It plugs in easy to the wall socket for recharging. The plug-prongs retract after removing from wall so not in the way. It stays charged for a long time but I don't know exactly how long-a few weeks is my guess. I charge it about every 2 weeks; when I charge it, it is still loaded and has not exhausted its spark. I fire it to make sure it is alive, it crackles and a very short streak of lightning comes out. I keep it on my nightstand when not on a walk along with the pepper spray.
