Dasco 640 24-Inch Shingle Ripper

I don't usually buy from 3rd party but this wasn't available trig Prime and we need it. It arrived very quickly and is exactly as described

Can’t do solar with out it. Perfect for prying shingles! Does everything except rip the comp my favorite tool!

At first, I thought it might have been a waste as I have other pry bars. But once I used it on a few tiles, it really does work fairly well. It's thin enough, strong enough and shaped well enough to do it's job with the least threat of damaging anything you don't want damaged. The nail catchers on the "back-side" could be sharpened/flattened for a slightly better tool, I think.

If you do NOT have this tool to set your QuickMount supports for your PV Solar rails and PV system, you are working too hard. You've heard the phrase, "The RIGHT tool for the right job!" Well, this is the RIGHT Tool !!!

Great tool for small shingle repairs. I was able to wrangle nails out from under shingles with minimal shingle damage and then re-install shingles under without a problem. MUCH easier tha a conventional pry bar.

The company apparently was bought out by another 2 years ago. the bar doesn't even look the same as it does on the picture. The picture has a grey tip. It looks like the tool is sharpened and the nail cutters sharpened. The version I received was completely painted in blue the nail cutter was not sharpened at all. It's square. I called the manufacturer because it doesn't look like the same product from the photos and they let me know that Dasco Pro was sold 2 years ago and the new owners made "changes" Based on what I'm seeing it's utter crap. Save yourself some time and buy something else. I wish I had.

Exactly what i needed

I am so happy they brought one of these in, and saved me the trouble of making one. Necessary tool for certain roof repairs, and for anyone with shingles on the side of a house. When doing stuff like adding a new roof to a shed that meets a wall, you need to be able rip out some shingles to get the flashing out. This allows you to start removing shingles from nearly anywhere. Alternative are to bend the flashing up and press it down in place, which leaves the job with an amateur finish,

A very useful tool. We use this for installing solar anchors and there is nothing else like it. We always keep two of these on the truck.
