Medical Terminology: A Programmed Systems Approach

This book has a great approach to teach you suffixes and prefixes of medical terminology. It all starts to come together on how easy it is to create and read medical terms now. There is a lot of information to learn, but using the free app, Study Blue on my iPhone made this process super easy. It's an app to create your own flash cards and tests you. I highly suggest the app to be used with this books to nail down all the definitions.

I am required to use this text for my fully online medical terminology class, and I've been very impressed. It's actually a very well-designed system, which focuses heavily on all aspects of integrated learning.It features lots of repetition while building on previously learned knowledge, and focuses on making said information relevant. You end up learning and retaining a very large amount of information without needing to rely on flashcards or cram studying.

I needed to purchase this book for my Med. Terminology class. I needed it asap and it did arrive promptly. I bought it new and this was one of the cheapest prices as compared to other sites. Book has a soft cover with ring binding and inner flap which can be used as a book mark. Great book! It is such a great book that you don't even need to attend class for this course.

This book is the one I needed and about $60 cheaper than at the school bookstore (new), about $30 cheaper than used @ school bookstore! It came with all the same stuff, and was spiral bound like the one at school. It has a cd with games like crosswords and jeopardy to learn your terms, plus perforated flash cards in the back labeled for each chapter so you don't hafta make em yourself. Excellent choice to save money!!!

Happy the new spiral book came with a CD. It looks like the book took a fall. The first 52 pages have a pinched tear at the top of the pages. Spiral books require extra care from start to finish. Satisfied with my purchase and will purchase from Amazon in the future.

I love this book. I love the break down of the words. I love the way it leads me step by step through suffix, prefix, root word, combing form, etc. The end of unit practice, games, matching, puzzles, CD and flash cards are very helpful. The repetition required, the charts, case studies, the labeling is all also very helpful.

Some definitions of notecards in the back of the book didn't match the definition given in the actual chapter. The cross word reviews were off in box numbers for certain words, the blank fill ins didn't match the answers of the cross words in the back. My unit 6 was completely missing. If I could give this 0 stars I would. Worst $138 I've ever spent my entire college career.

This is a beautifully designed books that makes you think, "am I really learning these words? I mean who doesn't know what oophorocele is?" " oh wait, maybe that's because I've filled out the definition for this word ten times.This books really helps you learn your medical terminology in a fun and easy manor.
