Super bright, but started to fail after 1.5 years

These assemblies are just as pictured on Amazon. The base itself is plastic because it needs to be, the two black rings are aluminum which really surprised me in a good way as it seems that everything is plastic nowadays. I have tried to show this in the pictures as well.I wanted to use these in my '05 Ford Fivehundred for backup lights and was a little sceptical at first because a lot of these LED assemblies do not work well in reflector assemblies, these on the other hand appear to distribute evenly throughout the lens assembly.Fit: this was another concern I had because the reflector assemblies are tall. They do in fact fit albeit with little to no room to spare.One thing I noticed as I bench tested them was that these do get fairly warm when powered up for 5+ minutes to the point where I would rather not touch the aluminum rings. Installation was straight forward and simple (my car has the standard sockets not the CK).Brightness: I have not had a chance to test them at night, however even in daylight (with the sun out) I can see an improvement over incandescent bulbs, you should be able to tell the difference in the pictures.If these LED's live up to my expectation then I will get additional sets for my other vehicles....Ok folks, it got dark here so I just went out in the freezing weather to check because I just had to know. THESE ARE AWESOME!!!!! Wonderful bright light, even distribution through the lens assembly and even when I stand at the end of my driveway they are still bright as all get out!!!! Too bad that the pictures disappeared after my first edit......Well I'm off to order some more......January 17, 2015I received two more sets and installed them on my wife's 2001 Silverado 1500, used them in front for DRL (Daytime Running Ligts) and as the reverse/backup lights. They fit without any issues and just as in my Five Hundred they look awesome....... Well worth the price.

I ordered the JDM ASTAR 50w led lights to replace the turn signal/brake lights for a 2013 Ford Expedition. I checked on UTube for the correct socket type and ordered the appropriate led lights. When I installed the new lights I immediately noticed the hyper flash problem. After researching online about this problem I found out that Amazon sells a wiring harness with a resistor to correct the hyper flash. The question begs to be asked is why would I install a low wattage light then add a resistor that would increase the wattage in addition to the added cost and time to install a new light harness. Then I found that Amazon will sell you a replacement turn signal flasher relay to correct the hyper flash instead of a wiring harness with a resistor. All well and good until I tried to find the turn signal flasher relay to check for the correct polarity. No where in the manual does it even list a turn signal flasher relay. Another brilliant Ford concept. After researching online for the location of the flasher relay I found that Ford had located it in back of the radio. By some accounts half of the dash had to be removed to access the flasher relay. By this time I was beaten down so bad that I removed the led lights and reinstalled the old incandescent lights. When I went to return the lights I was several months past the return deadline. Shame on me for going on vacation. Amazon nor JDM ASTAR mentioned anything about a possible hyper flash problem, resistor wiring harness or a new flasher relay. This has been a $60.00 lesson on BUYER BEWARE! Until you have researched your particular application STAY AWAY from after market lighting. I highly recommend using a professional installer of these products. It will save you time and money. I gave these lights a 2 just because I have had success with other JDM ASTAR products on older vehicles.

The 3157 bulb is used as a daytime driving lamp on my 2008 Avalanche. I usually turn off when driving, but my wife always leaves on. Not like it's getting lots of use, but having one bulb go to 50% is not expected from a quality product like JDM which has a very good reputation. Maybe just a bad bulb. I will buy one more set and hope the quality is better. I will let you know.

I was debating whether to get two LED pods as reverse lights or to risk trying out LED reverse bulbs. I decided to give the bulb idea a shot and after extensive research I ended up buying these. They are plug and play just as the description says, so you put these in just like you would change any other bulb.I did notice that they are quite a bit larger than standard bulbs, but they will still fit in most housings. They are extremely bright and I project them to last very long.I wouldn't go anywhere else to get LED bulbs for your vehicle than this company, but I also would not get any of their more expensive bulbs they offer because these are probably as bright as you'll ever be able to get so there's no reason to spend a little more money.All in all, these are great! Very nice, quality bulb that helps a lot if you have tinted windows as I do (20%).Would buy again!You can see in my pictures that they give off great light, even more than what I could fit in the picture.

Installed on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and it was a very easy install. Completely plug and play; however I did have hyper flashing at night when all lights were on and the turn signal was activated (this is with LED headlights, LED fog lights, and LED reverse lights installed). Load resistors are a must if other LED lighting is installed.I installed these mainly because I was hit from behind because of a distracted driver, leaving my Camaro totaled. These LED lights are far superior in brightness to the stock headlights. I am hoping to catch the attention of any driver behind me when braking. These lights are sure enough to catch their attention. Am planning to order another set for my front turn signal lights that require the same bulb #.(By the way, the 2016 Jeep Wrangler has standard sockets for the bulbs in case anyone was wondering.)

used them as a fog light replacement in a 2002 Avalanche. Much better than the first LED replacement I bought.

Initially I gave this product five stars. I used them to replace my drl bulbs, and I loved the build quality and how bright these bulbs are, however both have burnt out after about 4-6 months and being that they are on the more expensive end i would've liked at least 16+ months out of these bulbs.
