The eye candy abounds with this new version. However, in blackjack and let it ride, it is difficult to read the dealer's cards. For some unknown reason the card size of the dealer's hand is about half that of the players hand causing mistakes in reading what the dealer has. In blackjack, the Card Game version allowed you to use the keyboard for repeat bet, stand, hold, split and surrender, which is especially handy. You can't use the keyboard in this new version and it slows everything down to a crawl. I like my action fast just like at the real casino.The slot machines are greatly outmatched by the Masque Publishing slot games also sold on Amazon. The slots with this casino game aren't actual slot games used by casinos and the difference shows to anyone who has ever really played a live slot machine in the casino.In the Casino card games you get the same characters that were in Hoyle's Card Games and some are funny and good, others are completely annoying. At least you get to pick which ones you want to play with in this new version, so that helps. The other feature that is missing from all blackjack software is the ability to choose your position at the table. No one likes playing "second base" all the time.

I like this game. I wanted to update my old Hoyle Casino game 2006. That game I wouldn't have purchased if I knew that it would crash completely when you entered the back room tournaments. I wanted to get this game to eliminate that. Hoyle Casino 2010 seems to have all the bugs worked out. However it doesn't pervide the online game play that I thought it would like one of the other Hoyle Casino game. This Hoyle Casino 2010 games provides array of unlockibles that you could obtain from completing curtain things inside the game. It provides the possibility of unlocking some character costumes none which I will mention. You could also buy some items that your created character can use to be seen while you play a casino table. Some of the items that are priced seem to be a little pricey. I think that this game could have used some online game play but maybe the next will. The AI seems to be perfect when it comes to making a decision about folding. However when you go all in be warned they will most likely fold but if you are bluffing also be warned they will wipe you out. I would say try to look for the weakest link and go after them. I think that this game is a particularly fun and challenging and maybe a good buy. Hoyle Casino can be easy to use and more so for poker for dummies. There is tutoring but not during tournaments. You can also tune the environment can be changed to were your comfortable. I have yet to learn to make it so for playing alone. I would recommend to purchase this game if you just want to lean back take a break and play some poker. If your already a poker fan and you haven't already brought one in the past there's nothing major new about this game other then the character changes and items to buy at the Hoyle Casino Shopping center with Hoyle Casino points.

I had trouble getting this to work in Windows 7. I had to install and uninstall it more than once. After I installed it on the 3rd attempt I tried changing some of the icon properties. You need to left click the Casino icon and select properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and then select Windows XP for the compatibility mode. Next run the software as an administrator. (works in both Win 7 64bit and 32bit, if not uninstall/reinstall reboot) I do not play this game but my parents do and they are around 50 yrs old. They would never understand how to get this program to work. Anyways, my parents hate the Black Jack tables in the 2010. The 3D table is slow and the game also loads slow. The only reason they are playing the 2010 version is because this version has a large improvement in slot machines. Parents love playing them and unlock new ones all the time. The 2008 version has faster loading times and a better Black Jack experience but lacks in the slot machines. The 2010 version is a great add for slot machines but if you don't have the 2008 version. Buy the 2008 version. The 2008 version is better for a low powered computer and won't give you the headache of installing the 2010 version.

I am not impressed with the quality of the game. The 2006 version was better. It is always loading and that takes time. I had complained and they sent a replacement and it was a little better. When exiting the game you get a noise similar to that when you make an error while working on your computer. The screen will go totally black for a few seconds and then it goes back to normal. Bottom line is that it is wierd but it works.RichardNB: It was great dealing with Amazon. They were fast, efficient and handled my original complaint with class and professionalism.

It's everything I expected it to be. Game play is adequate and there's a good variety of table games. I'm not a serious gambler so I only find it mildly entertaining. However if you're curious about casino games this would be an economical way to find out.

This is a typical Hoyle game product. I liked the scope of the casino games and the graphics are very good. A larger number of player comments for the table games would have been better, but all-in-all it is fun to play and can help you become a better poker and craps player.

the box shows the 2010 edition i was sent disc only which i expected however it was the 2004 editon and the game had an error so i cannot say i am ecstatic

My wife loved the previous version of this collection of games but alas, it just wouldn't work with Windows 7. This version does and it presents the same features she liked - animated poker players with personalities, etc.
