This is a very well made motorcycle top case liner bag. The material and workmanship is first rate. So is the thoughtful design. Here is why I bought this rather than the BMW Motorrad bag for my 49 liter top case. The BMW liner bag is rigid and does not compress. It fills the space in the BMW 49 liter top box from bottom to top. There isn't much room on top of the bag for cramming unused layers, gloves or for stowing the things we need to grab quickly while on a tour like snacks or ball caps for covering helmet hair.While I really like the BMW bags for my R1200RT's sidecases, those get packed with heavy items like tools, wheel lock, air compressor and overnight kits. Once put onto the bike they are not touched until we reach our next destination.The top case holds lighter items like our clothes and our seldom used rain gear (California). Those things are organized inside of the liner bag. But, the top case also holds all of the things that we need to "grab" quickly while at gas stations, restaurants, and rest stops. For us, it doesn't work to have those "grabables" inside a piece of luggage where we would have to rummage around for them. We want all of those items on top of the luggage and Kathy's Journey Design bag while fitting into the BMW 49 L top case perfectly is compressible so that we can have this convenience. The KDJ liner bag will only be as large as the things that you pack inside. If you tour differently or pack your gear differently, your needs may vary from ours. But for us...this excellent bag is a great touring companion.
