I bought this drive for two reasons 1) the brand is skiable. I currently own SanDisk, WD and Seagate. I have found Seagate to be the most durable (suitable for daily use) Not temperamental like others but it is the reliability. Unless you have another 24 TB drive as back up this size of drive means you are storing a lot of data. Seagate gives you peace of mind I have a Mac Mini M4 Pro. I use USB B cables SS10 to USB C.

Product works well so far. No strange noises, disk seems to be running smoothly. However, the item doesn't look very robust, it looks rather fragile, like it needs to be HIGHLY protected at all times if you want to avoid any issues. The drive is 24,000,000,000,000 bytes in size, so that is only 21.8TB (this is just a reminder in case you expect/need 24.0TB). It is rather disappointing that at this steep price the HD doesn't come with a matching travel case with proper padding, as it definitely needs it. It's very difficult to find/buy a case of the right size, not to mention they all cost $30 and up.

This stopped working less than 12 hours after unboxing it. Seagate tried troubleshooting and ended up asking me to return it via Amazon. Good customer service but for a 500$ Hard Drive to die while brand new...I'm afraid I lost confidence in this brand. Will try to find another more sturdy solution. I got the Seagate Expansion 24TB

Great, for local storage either networked or not. Recommend replacing their garbage usb cable that comes with it (cable matters makes a good one). Pretty silent under low operation, speed is usb. Lifespan with seagate is hit or miss. I’ve had drives from them last a couple days and I’ve had drives last nearly a decade so hardware gambling. Wouldn’t recommend anything sensitive going on it, if it dies it’s gone. I use mine paired with a local caching machine for windows and steam updates. (Games too) it runs on the network via that “server” and as I learned when dealing with mechanical drives, don’t put stuff on it you can’t afford to lose. Was getting 460ish MB/s average read and 390ish MB/s write with your peaks and dips associated with HDD madness.
