Amazon Elements Milk Thistle, Vegan, 150mg, 195 Capsules, more than a 6 month supply (Packaging may vary)

Our schnauzer was diagnosed with some liver problems. The vet said we could buy pills prescribed for her. I asked if there was a natural supplement. She said to use milk thistle. We give her half a capsule in her morning meal. Since it is a powder in the capsule, we put it in a piece of wet dog food for her. She doesn't like the taste, but will eat it as the last part of her food. Her liver levels have returned to normal, but only if we keep giving it to her. The price is less than one fifth of the medicine and we are pleased with the results. I take one a day also to ensure good liver function. This is our second bottle but definitely not our last!

As described. Just like anything you would expect from any other item. However, they feel oily to the touch, which I do not prefer, but all the other good qualities make it worth the purchase.

There is only 1 reason to be on Milk Thistle supplements- liver protection for steroid use. With that out of the way, let me fill you in on my concerns-* There is no actual plant matter, it's an extract.*Volume is mostly Rice flour.*Recommended serving size is 1 capsule. Normally it's a minimum of 3.I took a picture of Milk Thistle supplements I know to work, and I broke open a capsule of Each. The Blue ones are from GNC. The transparent are from Amazon. You can see actual plant material in the GNC version, and the serving size is 3× the amount as the Amazon Version. Maybe it is effective, I don't know. If the primary ingredient is, then this product is a homerun. The gel cap is thinner than most, and its obviously refined. Wish I could give more insight.

I have been adding Milk Thistle before meals. I have more energy and feel better. However, I can't say for sure that it is the Milk Thistle because I started other supplements at the same time. At least I know that it doesn't hurt. 🙂

Helpful product - just wish it was not made in China - will need to find an alternative.

Just what I was looking for,

I drink, okay? Doctor says I shouldn't (for a coupla reasons) so I was searching for something(s) that might... delay the onset of the inevitable. The Magic 8-Ball said Milk Thistle... been taking it alongside Wellbutrin, Topamax, Norvasc and half an aspirin a day for over a month and... no ill effects! But that's just me... I snort lactose and inject uncut gluten. So, Milk Thistle: hope it don't make ya wanna, you know, make mistakes. ;)
