I will never forget the first time i met this book. I was on a day at an art museum and found it in the gift shop. I am mediately could not put it down and proceeded to completely ignore my day for the rest of the afternoon and quietly laugh until I cried. do yourself the favor, this book will be the perfect way to secretly test any possible new friend or acquaintance, romantic or otherwise. simply place it on your coffee table and let the magic happen, comrade. 100/100** SIDEBAR: this is technically my third book purchase as people in my life have “borrowed” this and or flat out stolen the GD thing. and, truthfully, i can’t blame any of them.

This book is a window back to simpler times; when people could be judged on their choices and there was no value in the offenses taken by readers.

I purchased this book for my girlfriend as a birthday gift, as we both love to people watch in public. After reading the reviews, and being a long-time fan of vice already, I placed the order.I hit a home run with this gift. This is a thick book, but an easy read as it's broken into hilariously written short segments which hold your interest as long as you allow.I now often hear her cracking up in the other room, and no longer have to ask why - I know she's flipping through this book :)

I love this book and have bought so many copies over the years as gifts for my friends! It's hilarious and offensive but if you're the type that loves to people watch and have a little bitch over terrible outfits - this is the book for you! It's a perfect coffee table book that you can pick up over and over and crack up laughing each time. The Vice guys and their comments are gold!

This book is very entertaining. I like reading it for a few minutes right before bed, not because it puts me to sleep but because it puts me in a good mood and takes my mind off the fact that my car needs new brakes.One of the most entertaining things about this book is to look at a photo and try to decide if it is a "do" or a "don't" before you read the caption. I'm telling you, there is no way to predict. The writer is completely fickle. One photo of a man clad all in spandex is a horrid affront to the human race. The next page you'll see a man wearing a latex body suit, and apparently that's not bad. He's got balls for wearing it apparently, and that's good, a "do." So it's fun to try and guess what the author thinks.Even without reading, this book is very funny. If you like people watching then there are a lot of interesting folks to see here, all doing their own thing. And it's not just people dressing crazy like wearing feather headdresses and that sort of wackiness. It's people just looking unique, wearing two layers of sweatpants with a tube top and high heels. There are a few risque pictures in the book.The writing is generally crude and vulgar, but well written actually. It's very colloquial, like your college roommate is sitting across the cafeteria table from you ranting about someone he saw on the other side of campus.Entertaining for yourself, but also a good gift, although probably not for your mom.

Love Vice. Had so much fun with this issue, as a San Diegan, the cover is too good! Passed on to my brother and then he shared with his friends... hope I ever get it back ! If you want a trip down memory lane infused with whip smart humor, Vice (any) is for you !

Good book to put by the toilet maybe?

Awesome books brings me back to Brooklyn before the gentrification of Williamsburg. Wish I could find the first one I had , guess that it will be my next purchase.

If you wonder who to thank for this particular pandemic of exclusive consumerism that swept through the metropols in the past decade. Vice did its part to wrap up diverse and original means of cultural expression for a handful of global corporations to control and sell back to the kids. Im talking about the trend that has found popular recognition as "hipsterism", i think it has to do a lot with tricking young people into believing that distinction is possible only through (secretly-uniform) patterns of consumer decisions, over which meanings the gigantic definatory power of the industry resides... Have fun beeing trendy, sexy and different and "yourself" ;)Its a fun book though, at the same time it makes you feel like a part of the jetset and also relieved that nobody with a camera and internet was around when you made (retrospectively) ridiculous dressing choices :)You laugh a lot and on the way you can learn a thing or two about fashiontrends, culture and individual expectations.
