There is a little bit of a learning curve. If you take the time to learn how to use the gimbal you will love the results and the types of videos you can produce.

The Insta360 Flow 2 Pro Standard Bundle in grey is a game-changer for smartphone videography, offering incredibly advanced features in a portable design. This foldable AI phone gimbal truly elevates your mobile filming capabilities. Its standout feature is the AI Deep Track 4.0, which provides unbelievably accurate subject tracking, even with multiple people, ensuring your shots are always perfectly framed. A major advantage, especially for iPhone users, is the Apple DockKit integration, allowing seamless tracking directly within over 200 third-party apps, including the native Camera app. This means you're not limited to Insta360's own application for advanced tracking. The gimbal also boasts 360º pan tracking for dynamic shots and includes a clever built-in tripod and selfie stick, eliminating the need for extra accessories. Its compact size when folded makes it incredibly easy to carry, making it the ultimate tool for content creators, vloggers, and anyone looking to capture professional-looking footage effortlessly on the go.

I'm actually returning this after just one week of use. I already left a scathing review of the app in the app store so this is just for anyone else looking to purchase this because of the self taping functionality. It does not work as described. I do simple videos while I am walking; I tried for several days to use the face tracker but the AI hallucinates and will randomly shift focus to something new. I had to stop using the tracking altogether so that feature is useless. The second day I used this, the gimbal would not function properly; the camera would just flop around with no stability. Frustrated, I shut it down, my recording session ruined. It worked the following day (just decided to work after being turned off I guess?) but five days in and again, no stability. Camera literally flopping around as you walk. This thing literally, did none of the things promised so I returned it. This is overpriced and absolutely unreliable.

If you're into vlogging and need a solid gimbal for your phone, the Insta360 Flow 2 Pro is worth a look. I've been using it with my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and my iPhone 12 Pro Max, both of which are fairly large phones, and the setup process was effortless on both Android and iOS. To get the best performance, don't skip the firmware update when you first pair it with the app. One observation I made was that the iOS app appears to offer a few more features than the Android version, which is somewhat disappointing for us Android users. It doesn't affect my day-to-day, though, as all the main features I use work fine on both. You do need to use the Insta360 app to get the full experience, but you can still trigger shots or record manually using your phone's native camera if you prefer — unless there's some secret feature I'm missing! The price tag is a bit over £140, which feels a tad expensive for what it is. However, Insta360 is a pretty reputable brand, so it might be worth the investment if you're serious about your vlogging. Overall, I'd happily recommend this gimbal. It's not a full-on stabilizer, but it does a cracking job of keeping your footage smooth when you're out and about vlogging.

I'm completely new to gimbals so I didn't really have any frame of reference. My kids have helped me explore the features though - are kid's these days just born with an innate ability to understand this stuff? :D The Insta360 Flow 2 Pro is a versatile gimbal designed for iPhone and Android users, promising smooth stabilisation and effective tracking. It supports Apple DockKit, which enhances tracking capabilities on iPhones, making it a practical choice for those using Apple's ecosystem. I was impressed that even a duffer like me can operate this straight out of the box and I was able to get really smooth tracked shots with very little effort or fiddling. It's tiny when folded away but the compact design includes a magnetic phone clamp for easy attachment and removal, a telescopic arm for extended reach, and built-in tripod legs for stable shots. The motors operate quietly and smoothly, and I couldn't hear any whir picked up in video. Despite my luddite reservations I found this a doddle to use, it's pretty intuitive and does all the heavy lifting for you. The tracking feature allows users to select a subject in the app, keeping it in frame while filming and the Insta360 app adds extra functionality. While it’s priced higher than some competitors, I'm given to believe this is a well respected brand that makes solid equipment. This particular gimbal offers strong performance and useful features, especially for iPhone users so if you are looking for this sort of device you should definitely consider it.
