In the beginning of the movie there's a homage to Edgar Allan Poe, remembering the viewer that this is based in a very old poem from the master of macabre. The raven finding the body of our protagonist is the first of a series of strange events that lead us to the brutal climax.Short Night of Glass Dolls is Italian director Aldo Lado's most atmospheric and unusual film.We can approach it as a standard giallo picture that sells a colorful murder story with a number of twists. However, the flip side of this film are reflected in the symbolic meaning of the events that are used as a pretext to ilustrate a very unfair political condition. The stronger feeds on the weaker, and like the tomato in the middle of the movie, you are powerless to do anything about it.The image quality is very good. The original grain of the film is well preserved, without digital artifacts (blocks).
