Better than buying a replacement harmonica
As Lee Oskar advertises with their harmonicas, you can replace the reeds fairly simply yourself for about half the price of a new harmonica. I've purchased three Lee Oskar harmonicas in the past few months, keys of C, D, and G. Unfortunately, the G harmonica was pretty badly out of tune. So, I purchased a set of replacement reeds for it. They were definitely better than the ones that came with the harmonica. However, they were still short of excellent; hence, the four stars.

Love my Lee Oskar harps!
I love Lee Oskar harps; they’re the best! I never use anything else on stage. It’s relatively straightforward to change reed plates, but this can be a little intimidating the first time; it’s not for everyone. You’ll need a couple of tools: small Phillips screwdriver and a pointed tool (small awl, pick, or scribe) to adjust the reeds if needed. In my experience, this step is always necessary. The first time, you’re well advised to practice on a bad reed plate to get a feel for it.

Perfect!
These are exactly as described. Replacement reeds for Lee Oskar harmonicas. They cost half the price of a new harmonica and you can change them out in less than five minutes, even during a break in the performance. You only need a small screwdriver and good light. (Don't drop or lose the tiny nut!) Carry an extra set in different keys if you are on the road just in case. Highly recommended.

Best way to get that new harmonica sound
I started using Lee Oskar harmonicas for their durability rather than quality or tone. They're much more expensive than my previous brand of choice. I like the idea of doing routine maintenance to keep a harp in tune and sounding good, so I also bought the repair kit and attempted to bring a couple very fatigued reeds back in tune. At the point I felt I was going to do more damage than good, I bought replacement reed plates for about 1/2 the cost of a new harp. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. My harmonica is absolutely as good as new. I'll continue to play with my old reeds to get better on the repair end.

I have replaced Lee Oskar reed plates before with good results once I learned the proper way to do it, but this time there was a problem. I ordered the ones for a "G" harmonica, installed them and when I tried to play, it was immediately obvious that something was wrong. It took me awhile to figure out the problem. Instead of sending me two plates for a "G", they packaged a blow plate for a "C" harmonica with a draw plate for a "G" and called it a "G". The way that you can tell is that there are a series of 5 letters stamped on each plate and the last letter is for the major diatonic which should match what you ordered. If not, you will be wasting your time installing them.

I will be replacing all my harps with Lee Oskar as I use them up because they sound as good as anything on the market and I don'
They they took 5 minutes to install and saved my most-used harmonica. Don't be put off by the "untapped holes" thing in other reviews - if they hadn't mentioned it in the instructions, I probably would not have noticed. In fact, it was helpful in positioning the plates that the holes in the bottom plate were slightly different. I will be replacing all my harps with Lee Oskar as I use them up because they sound as good as anything on the market and I don't have to just pitch them when I blow out a reed.
