haven't needed to use, but nice to have!
When we travel to the USA/mid-Atlantic and NE each summer, I'm paranoid me or my kids will get Lyme ticks... and I'm uncomfortable with how to remove them properly with a regular Tweezer. So, I ordered this... and luckily haven't had to use it yet. But, I'm more comfortable with the idea of removing a tick with this... fingers crossed.

Thankfully, not had to use it yet!
Having had a tick in the past I am making sure I am equipped to remove any future ones or my walking companions get!

Smallest twister couldn't remove a black-legged deer tick. Needed to run out for tweezers.
I recently took a vacation in an area that has a high tick population and high incidence of Lyme disease. I bought these twisters hoping they would give me a safe way to remove ticks, and cut any chances of me or my family contracting Lyme disease, should we be bitten.Well, I was bitten by a small, black tick the size of a poppyseed during my trip. It bit me on the back of my calf, on a fleshy part of my leg. And I tried to several minutes to use the smallest twister on it, following the instructions carefully. Unfortunately, the little plastic twister was USELESS, and the tick actually started to burrow further inside my leg while I was using the thing. At that point, I freaked, drove to the nearest open grocery store at 11 PM, and picked up some needlenose tweezers from the health and beauty section. The tweezers, used sideways and pulling straight up, were what removed the tick from my leg, head and all. While these twisters may be ok for larger-sized ticks, they were completely ineffective for removing the tiny kind that we're warned carry diseases. Don't go hiking with just these. Take a pair of needlenose tweezers with you too, and watch some videos on how to remove ticks properly using them.

Ticketty Boo!
These little tick removers are easy to use and great on my Highland Scottish visit where ticks lurked in every field! The Tick Unpick worked on dogs and humans!

Essential part of any walkers kit.
Tics are on the increase, and living in Scotland these are an essential outdoors carry, if not for you, then your dog/children/others.

Too small for big ticks!!! - and it broke!
I discovered a tick at the base of my cat's tail late on a Saturday afternoon. A quick trawl of the internet led me to believe that a device such as this was what was needed to remove the foul parasite - but where to get one immediately? Amazon I thought. As a Prime member I looked for an implement with good reviews which could be promptly delivered - The Smidge Quick Untick could be delivered the next day by Amazon Prime and had good reviews so I ordered it. The tool arrived late afternoon the following day (Sunday) and was much smaller than I anticipated . Indeed the larger of the two tools delivered was too small to get around the tick's head. Furthermore one prong of the 'fork' simply fell off leaving the tick in place. A total waste of money and time - please do not waste your resources on this useless tat. I ended up fashioning an implement more suitable to the task myself and removed the parasite entirely. I believe in using the correct tools for the job which is why I ordered the Smidge and waited, in hindsight I should have just made an implement myself which is what I did. I award this item a generous single star and hope that you avoid the temptation to purchase one of these useless putrid green brittle plastic kits for yourself! I have included some pictures of the 'tools' against my little finger to provide an idea of size.
