good value for the money.
Needed a cheap hydration only pack for an obstacle race that I was coerced into joining. Does its job well.Pro's:- 2 zippered pouches on sides are pretty roomy. I don't need all the space but it's a good place for a cell phone and some money and an ID.- mesh pouch on the outside is nice to have but I'm not sure if you can really put a helmet in it.- reasonably padded and vented on back- 2L is pretty good size but pretty heavy when full- bite valve and shut off valve work well and bite valve comes off for easy cleaning.Con's:- Shoulder straps are made of a thin breathable material which I'm not sure how long it will last. Working out so far so good after a couple of runs.- bladder has a terrible taste to it. The only way around it is to keep it clean and dry until just before use and filling it only just before you use it. Cold water works the best so once water sits in it for a couple of hours and warms up, it tastes horrible. Also, you need to carefully close the refill opening since it easily cross-threads.- Tubing seems to always get in the way. The bite valve will drag on the ground if you're doing burpees or pushups. I'm tempted to cut it to shorten it.- I'm not a fan of the waste/belly strap. Not very comfortable and would have liked it if you could detach it. For now, I wrap it around the front and it seems to stay out of the way.

LOVE THIS BACKPACK, BUT....
SO I took my first hike today with this hydration backpack. As I was attaching it to the velcro strap In the insulated area, it ripped immediately. I have been in contact with the owner and hopefully they replace the bladder. I gave it 4 stars because 1) Bladder stayed cold for a good many hours 2) I LOVE all the storage the backpack has 3) The backpack Is very comfortable on. I LOVE the whole back pack! I just wish the bladder hadn't ripped.

3 Spartan Races Down and the Sack Still Stands
I've done a Spartan Trifecta using this water sack and it has held up amazingly and remains functioning as well as when it first arrived. I have run 3, 8, and 14 mile obstacle courses with this pack and it has little to no damage from those treks.I never quite figured out how to keep the water sack from audibly sloshing while I ran (hence 4 stars instead of 5), but it held an almost perfect amount of water for all 3 races and I only had to refill once during the 14 mile race. The pockets, zippered and otherwise, were incredibly useful. I was able to hold multiple race fuel packets and bars, my inhaler, grip gloves, and other gear for my packless race comrades with easy access and barely noticeable weight. Those hose was a bit of a challenge to secure, similar to many other of these types of packs, but there were ample guide straps, elastics, mesh, etc that made it easy to coil the hose and keep it out of my way unless I needed it.This hydration pack is durable enough to last me a long time, it seems, and I don't think I'll need to purchase another anytime soon.

Used for a 3 day mtn bike race
I bought this to use for La Ruta de los Conquistadores, "the hardest mountain bike race in the world", because I needed a very light 2L pack. This pack worked well. I actually changed out the hydration pack because I wanted a bladder where the nozzle had a cap that completely covered the mouthpiece, because on this trip you ride through cow dung and so forth and I didn't want it flying up onto the mouthpiece. So, I bought this for the pack itself, not even the bladder, and I still think it was a good price. The bag is well designed with one of the zippered pockets going to the bottom and the other terminating in line with the end of the mesh pocket. The mesh pocket is very useful to stuff a jacket in there, or your used bar and gel wrappers, etc.The one thing I would change is the way the chest straps are setup. They have 3 loops so that you can put them higher or lower, but I had them on the lowest setting and it still wound up too close to my neck. I also had to tighten them as much as possible. Anyway, it worked well enough. The reason that I bought this pack instead of other similar ones [This appears to be one of many sold on amazon with different brands that are essentially all the same pack] is because it has the waist strap as well. The others did not seem to have the waist strap. This is useful especially for mountain biking when the pack bounces up and down on your back. Less necessary for road biking.

Keep it Clean & Dry when not in use!
This was perfect for me for the Fair - I work a hot station and use my hands so this is perfect to keep me hydrated and hands free. I also like the extra pockets for sunglasses and a protein bar and sometimes I put an ice pack in it so I can have something cool against my back. The beverage stays cool for a long period of time too. I wash after each use and sometimes soak it depending on what I am putting in it. I also have a special cleaning kit so I can clean the straw part and a special hanger so it can dry completely.

Worth the money!
I'm a new hiker, so I didn't want to spend too much money on an item I may not get a lot of use out of, but I used it this weekend on a hike and loved it! My friend who came with me will be purchasing one soon. Great price, easy to use, lightweight, and no leaks! Before I used it I added warm water and a tablespoon of baking soda to the bladder and let it soak for about 40 mins to remove the plastic taste.

Water Bladder Leaks when running!
Product description said the water bladder was updated to a newer version. So I believed that I was getting a product of good quality. Although I passed the allotted time of returning the product I am now stuck with something I will not be able to use. It is my fault for not testing out this item sooner. I purchased one for me & my husband. When we went on our 8 mile run together it did not performed to our expectation. It leaks from the top where you put the water in as your are running. The seal seems to be of poor quality. It doesn't screw in evenly and tight so therefore it leaks from the top. It does leak from the bottom where the hose attaches so you have to be sure its connected correctly. I am really disappointed with the quality of this product.
