I finally found time to install these speakers for our back deck. Instructions were clear and installation is comparatively easy, thanks to Bose’s bracket system. It took a little over one hour to remove the old speakers and install the newThe sound quality is excellent. These speakers replaced Realistic speakers from Radio Shack (remember them?) that were installed in 1984. The sound quality is almost identical. I was surprised and would look into other speakers as a cheaper alternative. My speakers are installed under a part of the deck that is covered, which provides protection. The Bose speakers seem more durable than the old ones. I expect these speakers to last decades.FYI, these speakers are wired to amplifier. I had a wiring system in place and was looking for wired speakers. Also, they must be installed at least seven feet apart.Overall, these speakers are expensive, high quality, and an excellent choice for outdoor music.

Love how they sound. Clear. Great imaging. Easy to install. Negative comments about lack of base are based on unrealistic expectations. These are essentially bookcase speakers, and do everything speakers this size should be expected to do and more. They have reasonable bass. For thumping bass, a subwoofer is needed. These are not that.

After many reviews and watching tons of video reviews on the Bose 251 Wall Mount Outdoor Environmental Speakers, I finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase them for my wife's Christmas present (back in 2020). It's January 2023 and I am writing this review because I wanted to give them a couple of season's use before I offered my two cents. I wound up getting them in White and actually had my electrician install them and run the speaker wire. Let me give you my honest assessment. The sound today is as crystal clear as it was when the were installed. We put them on our deck to provide music to our in ground pool area and it exceeded expectations. The music reaches our entire backyard, driveway and side yard area. The sound is like I am at a concert, but even better. These were the exactly what I hoped for and even better. We have had no issues, and the white still looks brand new. I would highly recommend these if you are on the fence. We hooked the speakers to the Bose SoundTouch SA-5 Amplifier, which allows us to use our smart phones to play music - so simple. I often don't rave about a product, but this one deserves it.

I'm not one to write reviews, so I hope this helps you make your decision.My new Bose 251 speakers are mounted outside, under the cover of my patio. I have them spaced roughly 20' apart, and they're mounted at about 8' high. First, let me say I love them. I'm happier than I thought I'd be. I've been reading reviews on several different speakers, hearing how disappointed people are with lack of bass or a flat sound or whatever they needed to complain about. No complaints here. None at all. The mounting was very easy. 4 screws on each bracket, and the speakers just slide down in place. The speaker angle is adjustable by loosening the 2 knobs on the sides of the speaker. Super easy. The speaker wires can either be connected with banana plugs or just bare wire tightened to the connector nuts. I went with bare wire. Again, super easy. I went in the house to turn on the receiver, and was a little unsure what I would here when I walked outside to my patio. Well, I could hear them inside very clearly. The bass was more powerful than I had expected, and the highs were clean and crisp. The sound outside filled the entire patio area, and carried out clearly across my backyard. WOW!!! I am very pleased.I mounted these less than an hour ago, and here I am writing a review. That's how much I like these Bose 251 speakers.Yes, I strongly recommend them. Enjoy!

The speakers sounds great... Also purchased the Bose amplifier. The only complaint I have is.. The brackets that came with it is not adjustable, You can only tilt it up and down.. It would be great if you can tilt it left and right...

It’s a great speaker. Installed a set on our patio. Mounted them horizontally without issue. Very clear, excellent mids and highs, great volume and sound. The bass is a little week for my liking so I will probably add an outdoor sub. If you like Bass these will score low on your expectations.The only other con is they are pretty large but most outdoor speakers are. The shape may not be ideal as there is an arch in them and they don’t lay flat. If you plan to point them inward they work great, if needing them to be flat it will be a prob.

I used these speakers to replace a 20 year old pair of Boston Acoustics speakers. The sound quality of the Bose speakers is almost as good as the Bostons, which is to say great. However, I also decided to try some HTD outdoor speakers which were less than half the price on my second deck. The Bose speakers are great and you won't be disappointed, but outdoors, especially in a noisy pool side environment the HTD speakers performed really well and the difference is hardly noticable. That being said, it's hard to justify the additional cost of the Bose speakers.

First off, I have to say I've never been a huge Bose fan, but I liked the looks of the 251's, and read some good reviews, so I thought I'd give them a try. I am pleasantly suprised how great these speakers sound! Build quality is excellent, and they were easy to install, as I was replacing my existing Teac outdoor speakers with the Bose, so the wiring was all in place. I've installed these speakers on the wall in a BBQ alcove I have right out my back door, which may give it the extra bass that some reviewers say was lacking. The sound is crisp and clear, with no distortion even at high volume. I have them connected to a Pioneer VSX1020 receiver with 110 watts, which power these speakers with ease! They also sound good at lower levels too, but they do come to life when you crank them a bit! Overall a great purchase, and a HUGE upgrade over my current outdoor speakers. You can't go wrong with these! Installation tip -I would suggest to leave a minimum of 6 inches from the top of your eaves/soffit to the top drill holes in the bracket. This gives enough room to rotate the speaker upwards without hitting the ceiling (this is not mentioned in the installation instructions).

Der perfekte Lautsprecher für einen Wintergarten. Zum Klang muss man nicht viel erzählen, ist halt Bose. Entweder man mag ihn oder nicht.Die Halter der Lautsprecher sind sehr stabil. Allerdings könnten die Wanddübel eine bessere Qualität haben. Ich sehe allerdings darüber hinweg, da das bei anderen Produkten auch nicht besser aussieht.

Un prodotto graditissimo con un buon suono. Ovviamente non bisogna aspettarsi bassi profondi ad un volume alto, dati i limiti fisici dell'altoparlante di ridotte dimensioni, ma molto precisi nel complesso.
