not standard mounting
if you have a proper set up and think this is the wheel, it's not. I don't believe that the mounting pattern for this wheel is not standard. if I didn't buy it with the discount of cyber Monday I would have been more furious. I now will have to fabricate an adapter or drill my wheel mounting plate to have it installed. or maybe sell it and get something more professional, I was mislead by reading direct drive thinking it would be good, didn't think this is worse than the tgt2

Great upgrade to my T300. Some key points to consider
Wanted to wait a few months before posting a review. Was hesitant at first due to the hours of research I done in the lead up to getting the wheel, showing lots of people returning the wheel due to disconnection/power issues. I previously had a T300RS and wanted to upgrade to an affordable Direct Drive. This has been a GREAT upgrade. The pedals as well were a step up from the T3PA pedals. No connection issues ever. No overheating (it can get hot if you do a 3/4 hour straight stint, but never cuts out or fades in FFB. I suggest to anyone who purchases this to do the firmware updates first, both wheel and base and then search online for your games recommended settings for the T598. Makes the world of difference doing these firmware updates. I would also suggest another USB-C connecter than the one that is provided. Although it works, it is USB-A to USB-C. If you move your wheel every time you use it like I do, then it becomes a faff having to unplug from the back of my PS5. I would also say the cable isn't the sturdiest. Purchase a high speed strong USB-C to USB-C cable and it will work like a charm. Small price to pay. Summary: Don't be hesitant from all the negative reviews of returns and connection issue ALWAYS do the firmware upgrades HUGE upgrade from T300. Research recommended settings for your chosen game.

I love it but it feels like it could be improved further
I am scoring my review mostly on the force feedback. On the games it supports it is mostly very good to excellent. I upgraded from a t300rs and definitely enjoy the increase in FFB detail that I feel. I have mine screwed down top my desk. This in itself has pros and cons. It is very secure. The feedback and vibrations coming from this thing is a bit like an earthquake at times, so the shudder going through my desk is pretty intense. I have known things to fall off and hit the deck. I have a pretty solid, heavy desk so it's not because its a cheap desk or anything. Why is this a con? Because the the feedback sounds will be shared with all who are near you (if like me you're in a living room). If you have a dedicated rig to attach the wheel to that you sit in the feedback would be somewhat transferred into your body via the framework, which I imagine would add some immersion. This is based on an assumption since I have nothing to compare it to, I could be wrong and my solid desk might actually feel more like a car than tubular steel frames (like I said I have nothing to compare it to). Either way I am very happy. I have used this both for PC and playstation. GT7 is fantastic. On PC my personal favorite is Automobilista 2. The tyre wear model in AMS 2 is very immersive as you can feel the car slide as the tyres wear. It's also very satisfying as I am able to catch a lot of slides before the car spins, giving the feeling of always pushing to the edge. It's similar on GT7 but AMS 2 nails it IMO. As regards firmware I think it could be better, on PC at least. I played some older titles on my old t300rs which had some really good compatibility, with T598 it doesn't have the extensive compatibility of the T300. To make things worse when running a game that the wheel doesn't have ffb support for, it will just go completely limp (turns freely). It could at least pull back to the centre with an option to vary the resistance. These are my only gripes with the wheel. Other than that I hope the manufacturer will continue to improve the feel of the FFB as some games feel great while others feel a bit feeble. Remembering button sequences on PC can be a problem. I labelled all my button numbers to help.

DO NOT BUY!
Do not buy this wheel. I have had countless disconnections using this wheel, I have gone through three power units and it’s been sent off to Thrustmaster for them to repair. It’s now not working again and I’m trying to get my money back. I am not a one off, in a league that I race in, at least three other people use the T598 and all have had exactly the same problems and all have been back to Thrustmaster for repair.
