Develop Relentless Competitors Drillbook

This has been a FANTASTIC purchase!!!
I manage a 9-10 year old baseball team that began the season playing very passive. We have already instituted 2 drills from this book and I have seen significant increases in ability and desire from the players. We started with the "Stay Alive" drill...the kids love the fast pace of the game, they have been a lot more aggressive in swinging the bat during games and they are extremely confident swinging with 2 strikes on them. About 2 weeks ago we started playing the "Wall to Wall" drill, in an effort to throw and catch the ball better. Again, this has really improved our throwing to targets and catching the ball under pressure. We modified the game to play on the outfield grass from one foul line to the other, kind of like a football game. To start the game the players get a thrill sprinting from their respective foul lines to the ball on the grass behind second base, kind of like the movie "Dodgeball". One team wears batting helmets, to keep track of which team they are on. We score the game like a football game and I have added bonus points for catching the ball with 2 hands and for any catch by our players who are less adept at catching the ball. The team clamors for both games at the beginning of each practice. I would also like to add the Jeff Janssen, the author of the book, has replied to questions that I have emailed to him.

Companion book
This is a companion book to "How to Develop relentless Competitors". It is a nice - although small - coffee table book and it has some pretty neat ideas. It is way over-priced and should probably been combined with the original book.
