I set-up the machine on stacked crates so that the machine is at shoulder height thus replicating a very inexpensive indoor pitching machine. If you buy good balls they will be delivered consistently in the strike zone. The best money I've spent for practicing baseball in the winter. **Q: Can you put baseballs in it** A: No real baseballs, just plastic ones. **Q: Do you have to hit with a whiffle bat or can you use a real/aluminum bat?** A: My son, daughter, and myself have used a child's aluminum T-ball bat.
