Lovely poems in translationLovely turns of phrase in Spanish and in English translation

I purchased this book because I heard David Soul (yes, the actor who played "HUTCH" from STARSKY & HUTCH fame) reciting poems from this book. He was so emotional, expressive and good, that I had to have a hard copy for my own library. The ones I have already read, are beautiful!!!! Worth the purchase. Catch Davis Soul reading some of these poems on YouTube.

This is my all time favorite book of poetry. This is the 6th time I've purchased this book on Amazon, because I'm always compelled to share it and give it to someone for them to enjoy. I took my last copy on a trip to see friends in Ecuador, so being written in both English and Spanish, it helped me work on my Spanish. I highly recommend this beautiful collection to anyone who appreciates passionate verse.

I love Neruda's poetry, however the problem with this edition is the translation. I think the translator didn't spend time in understanding the writer's passion and his vision. This is a very word by word translation, mechanic and boring. Neruda's poetry deserves so much more.

In my studied opinion, this is probably Neruda's best book, i.e., collection. The Spanish is included with the English, the translation is excellent, the print and lay-out are clear. These poems have both delicacy and power. They will bestir, becalm, and sometimes sanctify.

A great book, with beautiful poetry. I liked that each poem has an english/spanish version because I'm an spanish speaker but I get to practice my english and see the diferences between the two versions. Not much I can say, if you are looking for beautiful, expressive poetry, look no further and enjoy

I have been in possession of a paperback version of this book for some time now and could NOT resist reacquiring it in digital version. Neruda's poignant, almost pastoral sense of romanticism is captured beautifully in this publication. I recommend this purchase to anyone who enjoys Neruda's work.

Was introduced to this poet by my dear friend Effy and I am really glad of the introductionI do not connect to all of the poems as they are a tad dark for me but I really am moved to tears by manyI recommend this book to anyone who has an ear for beautifully crafted poetry especially as it has both languages side by side
