Absolute lifesaver.
First thing's first: I am writing this while Harold (my robot vac) is performing his first tour of duty. I will absolutely update this review as time goes on, because I spent a long time trying to figure out if buying one of these things was worth it or not, and many reviews didn't seem trustworthy.I am very trustworthy- I'm in law school. Which is why I bought Harold. I am taking the bar exam in July and I knew that keeping a clean-ish apartment would be a major stressor during my study period. I saw this model was being offered as a Lightning Deal, and I figured "Why not?" so I gave it a shot. I got Harold two days later and immediately put him to use. You open the box, pop on the two rotating brushes (which help Harold sweep debris into his mouth), and throw him on the charger for a while. I think he spent about an hour charging before I noticed that he was good to go. Harold also comes with a remote control (nice surprise), a set of replacement brushes, a replacement other internal brush thingy, and a cleaning tool to clean your cleaner. The remote also comes with the necessary batteries!I turned Harold on at around 11:30pm and it's now almost exactly one hour later. He's gone through my entire living room (including: under my couch, under my TV stand, under my desk, under my arm chair), which is half-covered by a thin area rug. He traversed nicely over the rug but did get stuck on a loop of wire under my TV stand, but once I freed him, he started cleaning immediately again. He also got one extra-long CVS receipt stuck in his undercarriage (happens to the best of us), and tried to eat my February rent bill (thanks, but that doesn't actually mean I get to live rent-free this month). In his defense, neither of those two things should have been on the floor, and all he did was kind of drag them along til I noticed he had them.He also went merrily into my kitchen, which was unexpected since I have a rather thick doorjamb divider thingy between the kitchen and hallway, and I absolutely did not expect him to make the climb. He did, however, multiple times (he is very thorough).Harold has been able to pick up dust, hair, sprinkles (I bake semi-professionally and am never not dropping sprinkles everywhere), tiny scraps of paper, and miscellaneous tiny dirty things. He passed over a few coins and bobby pins. All in all, while he's still zooming about the house, my floor already feels and looks cleaner. He gets right up to the corners or the sides of the wall and makes multiple passes during one cleaning. He took about 30 minutes running around and bumping into everything, which was incredibly amusing. After some time, he began going more slowly around areas he previously ran into full-force, like he was learning. He easily maneuvered around chair legs, getting right up against them to clean. He's sort of loud, like a quiet blender. But nothing that is truly distracting and it's more of a white-noise, background hum at this point. I didn't even have to raise the volume of my TV once I put him on. Plus, since you can schedule cleanings, you can always just schedule him to run when you're not around. In addition to preparing for the bar exam, I also suffer from bouts of depression, which can make it hard for me to do basic tasks. This includes cleaning, even "just" sweeping. Knowing that I can push a button and easily perform a basic household task is amazing to me, and worth every penny. Since Harold has been going around the house, I've found myself being more inspired to clean in other ways (simply putting away that one lone pair of shoes, or doing today's breakfast dishes). While this may seem like a luxurious or wasteful purchase, I am more than happy that I've made it.Harold is already part of the family, and I suggest you make him part of yours as well!Update: On his first go around, Harold picked up dog hair. I DON'T OWN A DOG. This has gotten my house cleaner than I ever could. The best thing is that he goes wherever he fits, including under couches and beds, something I can't do with my regular vacuum or broom.Harold ate a plastic garbage bag, so I had to use the included cleaner thing to to pry it out of his rotating brush. No big deal. He got stuck on my curtains that hang too low and touch the floor in my bedroom. He eventually freed himself. He has had ZERO issue finding his charging dock, even though I definitely did not give him "6 ft x 3 ft of space". I don't have a NYC studio apartment just to house my robo-vac. He has like, 6 inches of space on either side and unlimited space in front of the dock.He retains his learned path but gingerly attempts to go beyond, which is nice if you've since moved the item that blocked his path the last time he ran around. He cleans my kitchen, bedroom, living room with carpet, and hallway in about 3 hours, then returns himself to the dock.I bought him some Googly eyes.

Great addition to our home!
I have had this little vacuum for a little over a month now, and I am very happy with it. We have a large, fairly complex to navigate ranch home in excess of 2100 sq ft, and I run this vacuum about once a day. In two days it will successfully clean almost 100% of the house. This is not a learning robot, so it just moves randomly about, but its algorithm is pretty good, insuring that it hits pretty much everything in a couple of days of use. It has also always found its way back to its base to recharge itself, which seems to be an issue with some others in this price range. Our house is only a few months old, and we have a Dyson Animal upright vaccuum for our regular vaccum, so I was shocked at how much this thing picked up, and continues to pick up. But this thing goes where other vacuums cannot; under the livingroom chairs, under the couch, under the entertainment center, under the beds and all of those other places that are just really a pain to get with a regular vacuum and everything likes to accumulate. I have a long haired cat that sheds constantly, and three women/girls in my home with long hair that seem to shed almost as much as the cat, and this thing takes care of it all. Where I used to use a regular vacuum pretty much every day, now I do it about once week, not because the house doesn't look clean, but because I think Dyson upright has more suction and can clean deeper, and also has a HEPA filter, which this does not. Not having to drag out the upright vacuum every day has been a huge time saver, and our house is definitely cleaner.I am giving this five stars, not because it is the best vacuum out there, but because it is an amazing bang for the buck. I don't believe that the more expensive ones will clean any better, but the learning ones would be more efficient in hitting the whole house. However, for the price this is hard to beat.Yes, you do need to clean out the dirt bin after each use, and in our house I also need to clean the rotating and main brush every few runs to remove all of the long hair from the girls in the house that gets wrapped around them, but I have to do the same with the Dyson. The beauty of this thing is I just have to push a button and walk away and do my own thing and the house gets cleaned. It is also amazingly quiet compared to the upright vacuum. Our cat will run for the hills when the upright comes out, but this one does not bother him at all. You can even hear the TV fine while the vacuum is working in the same room. The only warning I might give is that you need to make sure all cords are out of the way, clothes are picked up, and shoes are put away. If there is a stray lace laying on the floor from a shoe, it will suck it in and stop the vacuum. The same with socks and cords. The first few days it was a bit tenuous on this front, but it does send off an alarm when it gets stuck on something so you can come and save it and put the cord away, pick up the clothes, etc. Now that all cords are tucked away, it doesn't get stuck much at all.Overall, this has been a great value, and I can genuinely recommend it
