Perfect for any outdoor adventure, the Tanza sandal from Teva stays secure through water, sand or grass. The patented universal strapping system means the adjustable hook-and-loop strap holds the foot securely while allowing for a perfect fit. The molded rubber sole provides loads of traction on wet or dry surfaces, and an encapsulated shock pad in the heel ensures shock absorption. Teva is an authentic icon in the outdoor industry. Founded in the early 1980's by a Colorado River guide, Teva pioneered the sport-sandal category. For more than 20 years on rivers, in canyons, and across the trails of the great outdoors, athletes and enthusiasts have traveled the globe comfortably and confidently in Teva footwear. Providing positive contributions to the world in which we play is at the core of everything Teva stands for. The Teva name itself is a Hebrew word meaning "nature" and the hand logo is the Hopi symbol for "friendship" and "water." Teva supports the outdoor athletic lifestyle and remains committed to innovation in outdoor performance footwear, the platforms which carry enthusiasts beyond the offices of the day-to-day and onto the rivers, trails, and canyons of the next adventure.

Hurricane XLT vs Tanza vs Terra FI 4. And the winner is...
Bought the Hurricane XLT, Tanza, and Terra FI 4 sandal to compare!Hurricane XLT: Found the XLT's to be simply unwearable for any considerable amount of time. The straps were scratchy, they had no padding except for a thin patch at the heel, and the hard plastic strap holds frequently dig into your foot. (The worst for me was the one right by the base of the heel) Liked the material of the insole, had some squish to it and felt comfortable. Fairly rigid outsole. Ran true to size.Tanza: Marked improvement over the XLTs. Much more generous padding throughout and a more supportive overall. Similar insole material to the XLT, sole seemed thicker and more rigid though. Over time, noticed the closure as well as the strap by my large toe were leaving uncomfortable marks in my skin. Both were just snug on my foot so I don't think they were pulled too tight. Slightly different strap style and look. Ran true to size.Terra FI 4: The best of the bunch. Shared the same strap style as the Hurricane XLT's but with much improved padding throughout. All plastic was padded and did not contact skin. Very soft and squishy insole - felt pretty good to walk on and was still supportive. Ran true to size. Very flexible sole, no problems bending at my toes. Just generally easy to forget I was wearing them, which was ultimately what I was after. Very pricey as all Tevas are but since I buy sandals maybe once every 5-10 years I'd consider it a good investment if they hold up. Time will tell!

Good looking and quite comfortable sandles
The soles are the most comfortable of any TEVA sandels I have tried - far better than my old Pteradactyl model. The look a bit nicer than the normal models as the straps are more integrated in appearance. From reading some of the other reviews, I was a hesitant to buy these as the straps apparently delaminate - or have done so on some. If this holds true to this model, I will repost an update. However, if they last a couple of years I would be happy - the ones these replaces were many years old. And as these are more comfortable would be willing to accept them failing - if for no other reason than it would make me buy new ones. Why are they comfortable, you ask? First, the footbed is not flat, but shaped like your foot. If you are they type who value your instep being supported, give these a look as they are well supported. And the entire sole has a bit of cushion to it (More so than the regular TEVA model that I compared it to) so that it cushions you if you walk on uneven surfaces, concrete, or sand. The model I got was in brown - but I looked at the black ones which also look good. If you want a sandel that can pass for anything from a beach to a casual type resturant, these certainly fit that. I can't get over how much better they feel when worn than the old ones I had. They do seem to run about a half size large.

I have had many sandals and found these to be the best
This is my 2nd pair. The first pair just blew out. Considering I've had them for many years and have worn them hard, this is to be expected. I've attached some photos of my old ones. With many types of sandals, the soles crack. The soles never cracked on these and they didn't wear down too badly. They are very comfortable with a good arch, I wear them all day and have gone on long hikes with them. They have a nice natural look in the brown.

Teva Mens Tanza Sandal An Outstanding Purchase! ... 6 Years Hard Use And Still Great!
I don't leave many reviews but when I just slipped my 6 year old pair of Teva Men's Tanza Sandals on and thought these have been outstanding I thought that I should see if I was lucky enough for them to still be making them and they are! I came here to amazon to check and they even came up with my order from 6 years ago to buy again! These sandals like I said are on year 6 and have been on many river and ocean adventures along with being worn all the time in warmer weather. I live down south now so they even see more use than they did and still look great except for the sole being worn down some which is to be expected for all of the rocks they have been over and in how much they have been worn. They grip well even when wet and are easy to slip on and off. I'm going to go on and buy another pair now just to have an extra pair. If you like the style you cannot beat these sandals. Buy them and you'll be glad that you did!

Awesome
I ordered size 8 which were too small and sent them back free of charge for size 8.5 I had no problems doing this and the turnaround was very fast. You just put them back in the original box and drop them off at any UPS station. The sandals are awesome and are much cheaper online. At the store they cost $78. They give a very nice support for the arch of my feet. I have to finally throw out my last pair of teva's that I bought in 1993! I use these on the beach, boating, and for wearing around town. These are definitely worth the extra money when comparing to cheaper models!updated 06/21/2016I am updating a bunch of my reviews today...These are still going strong and I bought them in 2012. I love using them if my feet have to go in the water (like when putting my canoe in or helping with my friends motor boat. They do great in the water and on land!

Pretty disappointed in these sandals
Pretty disappointed in these sandals. My old pair of Teva's lasted almost 10 years and on some of my wildest adventures. These newer ones looked even better than the last, so I was excited. About 4 months into wearing them the sole started to de-laminate, which causes the straps to fall right off. I was annoyed by the poor construction, but spent some time repairing them myself. 2 years into owning them and I have been repeatedly disappointing by them. The worst experience I had was when I was 2 miles into a cave system and one sandal just completely came apart. I ended up walking/crawling back out barefoot. I recommend avoiding this version of their sandals at all costs. If Teva folks ever look at these reviews, I recommend you revisit your sole adhesive. It just disintegrates when water is involved. The minute the sole starts wearing apart, the straps fall right off. All the other materials on the sandal are great and will last years, but the glue that holds them together is just garbage.

THOUGHT IT WOULD BE GOOD
Well when this product arrived I thought to myself that "this looks good and strong, well built etc". However before the summer was out and I mean early August, one of the rear straps had come apart from the joint between the sole.I was on holidays and didn't have access to the internet so I never got a chance to complain and return the item to Amazon. I know I should have but...I have given it three stars, simply because I did like the sandal, it was very strong and great to walk in, very sturdy and supported the foot well.So perhaps it was a "Monday" made sandal, either way I would be replacing it with a similar model

Nice product, but not suitable for me
I was happy with the product, but it didn't suit my feet, which need a bit more support. I returned them for a refund, which was promptly given. Very happy with the service.

Great Sandals
An excellent sandal, fits well, cushioned heel and comfortable to walk in from new with no rubbing or blisters. By far the best pair of sandals I have ever owned, spent all day walking on rough ground at a car show within a week of receiving them with no problems. I guess you get what you pay for!!!

Excellent pair.
Look good, robust straps, very comfortable to walk distances in, due heel height differential and contouring of the footbed to the arch profile.

The tragic truth: Teva was bought out and sucks now.
I returned these. The insoles were quite comfortable, but the foam under the straps was too stiff, and the front straps were not long enough, so you end up having about a centimeter or more of exposed velcro, a bogus design flaw that plagues all Tevas now (based on the various models I've tried). These issues, and the countless reviews stating these fall apart after less than a year or so, is pretty much proof that Teva, who got bought out by some big conglomerate a while back, is really no longer the company it used to be, which really is a damn shame considering how many seriously loyal customers the old company had, based on the exceptionally high quality product they used to offer. These issues all come down to the regressive cost-saving practices that plague so much of capitalism, and inevitably follow when conglomerate corporations buy up specialist companies for the sole sake of turning a profit. If I was really in a bind, I may have stuck with them, but I found a pair of Ecos for a good price, and the Tevas can no longer compare in build quality or comfort. If you can find a pair for a decent price, I highly recommend them (before they fall victim to the same business practices). It's becoming ridiculously difficult to find good sandals (seriously, why should finding quality sandals be such a challenge?), so hopefully the last remaining companies don't fall victim to this kind of thing.

Consigliatissimi.

Good fit and good product
I purchased these as a gift for my partner. He has never worn Tevas and was really surprised at how well they fit and how super comfortable they are. They arrived on time with no problems.
